Aight since y'all care so much about time, imma get back to you on this at 12AM.

I'll even give The Off Season another runthrough for like the 12th time because it's some people who just can't believe that others were not all that impressed by it and think they just need to listen to it again.

i aint even listen to the off season. im just like... bruh it literally JUST came out lmao

like give it a week at least

    I don't like Cole's album but it's better than Tyler's for sure.

I truly think that because of Tyler self producing his own stuff he is able to level up each album. Not only does he get better at lyrical capabilities and the ability to pull off the aesthetic that he’s going for but he is also able to level up in the overall sound. If Cole self produced everything he would be going down the same route. Also, I think there is some magic to the one album every 2 years cycle. Enough time to get better at everything. Enough time to switch up the sound. Also enough time to get the fans hungry for a new project but not too long where people just become uninterested.

Honest take on The Off Season...it's aight. Rapping wise it is Cole's strongest since in my opinion Born Sinner but musically it leaves a lot to be desired. But I think that's what he was going for on that project. More focus on raps and leaving the production to other producers. A mixtape kinda vibe pretty much.

If I had to give my personal rankings of J Cole's albums after The Offseason:
    1. 2014 FHD
    2. Born Sinner
    3. KOD
    4. The Off Season
    5. Sideline Story
    6. 4 Your Eyez Only

Pierre dropped a better album than both but I don't think this site will ever be ready for that one.

not sure why some people scream high praises for TLOP5 so fervently
beats are great but you could put any other rapper on any of those beats and it would have been a better project

  • Jun 28, 2021

Cole album was more impactful for me but Tyler’s is very well put together

Both on my summer playlist no doubt

  • Jun 28, 2021

j Cole is obviously a better rapper by a long shot but he also decided to make a bunch of dumb trap songs with autotune after talking s*** about those kinds of rappers for years, so Tylers album is automatically better

Eh not exactly. I think a lot of people that like Pierre agree he sounds the best over his beats. Like what he does is simple yet so effective. Man has perfect melodies simple as that in ways only he does over his beats.
