Seems like there might be a concept going with this album which would be cool I guess. But honestly I'm so disenchanted by Eminem for over a decade now that I can't help but keep my expectations at an all time low.
I think it's good to have expectations low for a 50 year old rapper even if he is a cemented all time legend.
There's a reason everyone was so shocked by nas late career run. It doesn't ever happen, really it never has like that.

I don't believe age has anything to do with this. Em can still rappity rap his ass off but his creative well has been dry for over a decade.
honestly, in
if there's even 3-4 songs I like I'll be happpy
his last project had some nice old school em sounding hooks on it

His rippity rapping also sucks tho
No one cares about him rapping fast, his dad joke bars or him rhyming a bunch of words that don’t make any sense
He also has a garbage ear for beats and features
Just all around washed lol

I don't care about it either but once in a while he does have clever bars and great rhyme schemes (for example Doomsday 2).
I'm just saying on the technical front he can still rap even at his age. It just never amounts to any singular creative vision.
Just from the nature of the album I’m almost positive at least one song on here will bring back accents.
When hes flirted with accents post relapse it’s generally well received but im not sure how an entire song will sound, and im not sure he can hit that relapse flow.
Will be fun to see.

Forgot to add that his delivery and flow also suck
Especially when he starts doing the malfunctioning robot sounding s***
Excited tbh. Even when they’re bad em albums are fun moments
Anything after MMLP2 has been anything but “fun”
I think the biggest thing for me is the mixing/production value.
From SSLP - Relapse the mixes were so clean, 54 Sound/Effigy/KDS Orlando engineers plus the Bass Bros and Dre’s guiding hands sounded amazing.
Even an objectively bad beat like My 1st Single sounded much better quality wise than anything on his last few singles. His vocals sounded perfect, a huge part in his success.
Ever since Recovery his mixing team is usually just himself and denaun. He even refuses to do features if he can’t mix it himself.
Since he has bad tinnitus he really can’t perfect the mixes the way he used to, and his music has really suffered since then.
Not that other things don’t affect his music nowadays, but the sound quality and vocal mixing is a huge part of why he doesn’t sound the same.
It’s no coincidence the only song that is really sonically pleasing on Recovery is So Bad which Dre produced and mixed.

you mean his staccato/choppy flow? i thought he dropped that a while ago. but yea that s*** was ass

Kamikaze was fun. Not a lot of staying power and a few weird throw ins but it was fun to see em taking shots at people again. Some great lines here and there as well.
“Bars are like bullets when I spit the schemes/that’s why I call them motherfuckers M16s” is a classic em line.
I just think the generic trap beats and rappity flows really aged the album fast.
But still was fun at the time.

Also Ridaz from the digital deluxe of recovery which Dre also mixed is the closest Eminem has sounded to TES since Encore. Of course it’s not 1:1 and the content is filler but the song is em’s best attempt at mimicking that classic sound/flow.
