Brand New Dance shows that Encore could have been great if he just cut some of the trash. Get rid of Big Weenie, Ass Like That and My First Single, then add Brand New Dance and you’ve you a pretty strong album.

Ass Like That is a classic.
Trying to replay the album but cabt get past the first two songs, so good I keep going back to em
This is probably gonna be a huge topic of discussion going into the future but my reaction to that is
With autotune you’re still hearing the artist, in front of a microphone, being captured. There’s an effect on it but you’re still hearing them in that moment being recorded and delivering what the song is. The cadence is also being captured and the actual person who the song is being delivered by is still being captured
It’s an effect, it’s effecting the audio. It’s not outright replacing it a complete digital creation
If the intro on this or brand new dance are ai, we legit aren’t hearing Eminem or anyone. He recorded it and still delivered it but the audio isn’t anything that happened
There’s an argument where it’s like if it’s good who cares but idk I probably won’t be as into those songs if it comes out it’s legit a generated computer voice.
The idea of Eminem specifically catching his groove back and fixing his bad delivery (an issue for over a decade now) is so much more fulfilling a listen then just listening to him use a software to deliver a song without anyone actually at the mic rapping
I love rap for hearing the guy at the mic delivering the rhymes! The voice being used, the cadence, the contorting of words and delivery
Is it a fully generated thing or does it sort of “smooth” things out? Kind of like de-aging tech in movies.
Like James Todd, now your arms are too short to beat K-Rod
Indeed, they small like DJ Paul
not bad at all, Em
Dammit a provider co-sign gonna make me listen.
You check out the common Pete rock yet?
Man Road Rage could be such a top tier Em song if the topic was better, went at fat people too much
The beat
Slys part
Eminem’s flow
The Juvenile flip
The topics of 3/4s of the song
Eminem wasn’t lying when he said he ran out of things to talk about lol. Like how many Caitlyn Jenner references are on this? There’s so many jokes recycled on the same album, it’s crazy.
And Temporary is literally arose again. Same concept and everything, right down to the placement on the album.
And idk, is this really Eminem returning to form or just a long winded way of doubling down that his new stuff is clearly better and you’re dumb if you don’t agree? In the context of the album, the shouty choppy flow songs are supposed to be “the real him” and cause for the listener to celebrate.
It’s not a complete train wreck but it’s pretty mid. If he wasn’t able to knock this out, I think it’s pretty clear we’re never getting another great album from him again.

Sly was the worst part honestly

I actually like it! Kinda adds a chaotic energy to the song for me. Grew on me

I think it’s sort of poking fun at how he’d hyper fixate on certain subjects and ride them into the dirt on his old material.
Like, think about how many middle finger bars he had on MMLP for instance.
I’m glad we seem to be past that terrible trap and autotune trend. Like Nas said on his last album, “get back to the art not the trends”
Might be a reach but since then we getting Eminem with his flow back actually caring about and realising a good album, we got Pete rock and common and LL and Q tip on the way.
The hiphop I love from the past seems to be creeping back in
2nd half of GC 2 with the 2000’s voice
I'm convinced they used AI to make him sound like that idek his voice could still sound like that
