Yeah it was all recorded and planned, he scrapped it because Relapse was a flop for his standards

There are 3 versions of Relapse 2:

• The one he made in January - April 2009 after most of the work on Relapse 1 was done (including the Palms Oasis sessions in March 2009 with dre and 50)
• The one he made in Hawaii in the summer of 2009 with Dre and Mr. Porter (Nut Up, So Bad, Ridaz, On Fire, etc.)
• The one he made with Just Blaze and other producers in Fall 2009 before he got the beat tape from DJ Khalil and switched directions towards recovery (No Love, Cold Wind Blows, Going Crazy ft D12, Cocaine, etc.)

not really it's a weird era, originally relapse 2 was going to be made up of scrapped songs from the first album which is what refill was but then he went to hawaii with mr porter and dre and they started working on new songs with less of an accent for relapse 2 like nut up, the warning, things get worse, ridaz and then somewhere along the line he changed it to recovery and did the pop s***

50 Cent in Spring 2009, Dr. Dre in Summer 2009, Eminem in Fall 2009.
Detox cuts leaked in early 2009 so Eminem and Dre locked back in to finish relapse. meanwhile BISD didn't have a good single so interscope pushed it back to the fall, moved relapse up and they pushed Detox back to 2010.
