for years twitter stock was a bad investment as they showed no interest in profitability or pleasing shareholders. the board is a f***ing joke. it’s decisions seemed to be anti business, they had more allegiance to those they were politically in bed with.
ever since this elon discussion has happened around free speech and new ownership the stock has jumped 30%. it may return to being a real business again.

I agree it’s mostly reactionary, but keep in mind a lot of the Twitter base now migrated from tumblr when tumblr made similar changes. So more or less people are either just going to migrate somewhere else, or just not like the changes made.
