The whole For You tab is so bad.

In fact, this is the biggest problem with Twitter for me – even before Elon. The constant feeling of being bombarded with content, other people's opinions about everything, discourses. But that's the whole point of the site. That's why Trending Topics, hashtags, etc were created.

Explore page on Instagram is also bad. The internet currently is just content and ads being thrown at us.

Tumblr has a For You/Explore section too, but it works there because the point of Tumblr is seeing and reposting other people's posts. Pinterest as well.

I'm not trying to be pro-elon or whatever but my experience on twitter has been undisturbed since he bought it. I tend to avoid politics on all social media so I can't speak to the experience of people who go to twitter for politics. but for my sports / pop culture / comedian / celebrity / tech twitter feed, everything is still just fine.

I need bluesky. Where it at. Spaces is Lowkey what keeps me on Twitter.

But honestly this is very reminiscent of clubhouse and Bitclout early days. New boom of people, they swear application is best thing since sliced bread then things devolve into toxicity every day things pass and no one wants to use the platform. I think Twitter will fail simply because i think this next era will be a reduced social media era
