The extraction of the precious metals need to make the batteries are extremely taxing on the environment. And the exploitation of literal children to get those metals is nothing short of appalling
Never mind the price point of a Tesla is too out of reach for your average person for them to really put a dent in emissions any time soon. I’m not saying electric cars can’t be beneficial but as of now they that benefit is negligible and there are certainly serious environmental side effects we need to consider with them as well
