does anyone actually argue that democrats themselves are "far left" besides republican grifters like Charlie Kirk and twitter figureheads like Tim Pool or Cernovich?
Most people who say this stuff seem to refer to faceless bureaucracy or youth/media/pop culture.
also let's be honest, we both know most people who talk about the "left" or the "right" in these debates are solely talking about social issues (we all know which ones) no one actually uses right/left in the west to refer to economics in popular discourse unless it's in a book club type space

The left constantly gets baited into social issues talking about f***ing womens high school sports when it would be easier to win people over with economic debate.

no disagreements, i'm just saying when people talk about the "left" like elon musk was or like guests on JRE do or twitter randos or something, they're generally not talking about democrats, they're talking about a perceived cultural force composed of pop culture, bureaucracy, academia, etc. collectively - to then compare this as if people are talking about democrats specifically is kinda like purposeful misdirection. everyone knows they're really talking about new social norms they disagree with.

Yeah ofc but let's not act like they don't view the democrats as the leaders of that cultural force lol, especially the closer you go to trump supporters

I think this is only the case for politicians and outright grifters or pundits, like if we're talking ben shapiro, cernovich, tim pool, even probably joe rogan then sure - also true of Trump and likely many of his followers. I don't think this is anywhere near universal though, even within "mainstream conservativism" people are moving away from this view and increasingly viewing democrats as opportunist runoff (not fully wrong lol) of views originating elsewhere, places like The Federalist, The Hill, etc. basically openly publish editorials and videos these days about this stuff and how the real issue is "Woke Capital" (lol) or whatever.

But a lot of people listen to those pundits and grifters lol, even Elon himself was making that equation

not saying people don't, but i don't see how he got that from musk's meme. did he explicitly say democrats? it just had labels generically for left & right - i assumed it was probably in reference to trying to s*** on the liberal people in twitter's staff more than anything

id say a lot of "normal" everyday republicans think joe biden himself is being led and having his strings pulled by the far left. I would say its way beyond just those who follow/parrot kirk and others like him

Elon makes a move to buy Twitter, immediately starts promoting neocons and other right wing grifters, and denigrating the democratic party

Literally my uncle (old school conservative type dude) believes this whole heartedly

When you point out that Biden is basically a centrist he just says some vague s*** about “the people really in control”

indeed. it's easy to think no one thinks this way if you are not in contact with those that actually do, but im sure plenty of people on this site have family or associates that fully think AOC and other "far leftists" are calling the shots
