demon souls and dark souls both take place in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world. elden ring is def a dark fantasy, but it also seems like it has lighthearted moments throughout

huge tolkien vibes from this one, more than any fromsoft game yet. the natural wildlife and character dialogue gives me a rly good feeling
