Oh my god I totally forgot about the monkeys and mfers ITT wanna say Micolash is worse
The monkeys are the 2nd worst in the series
At least it can play out differently every time you boot it up and you can employ strategy
Not even the best gimmick fight of the game and rykard now is easily the best.
Also yeah its creative but my god this was the worst fight when I did it blind. Maybe Im just stupid but it took forever and was just annoying as f***. Plus it wasnt even spectacular or interesting. Definitely one of my least favorite from soft bosses ever
The monkeys is the worst in Sekrio & 2nd worst in the whole souls verse
Technically its not even a boss tbh
That boss is the best gimmick boss they ever did tbh, ngl that s*** was actually creative, like how that one monkey was invisible and you had to basically lure the monkeys using their weakness like one was blind one was deaf
Man i really wanna boot up Sekiro again
Its just see no evil hear no evil speak no evil there is no evil monkeys & religion mantra its hardly unique lol s*** sucked imo
2nd worst "boss" in the whole soulsverse 2nd to Micolash
I'll take duo/group bosses over gimmick bosses anyday tbh, for the most part.
Only a few gimmicks are truly worth their time. At least ganks are still straight up fights i can either power through or plan/build around.
So many neat aoe weapons I wanna use, but they all require me to have high arcane or faith
Its because a lot of them are strong af + the high level cap in ER
Maliketh is the first time I’ve had to rage quit this game. Idk how he even hit me but I am now angry.
Love his fight.
Him n the boss after next are the only bosses that gave me that "classic souls feel".
Him + the boss after next are my two favs of the whole series & top 10 of the whole soulsverse for me. HMs to Dragonlord & Radahn.
I also did the beast questline n had a beast build for my char so my connect to Malakith n the unique dialog for doing so added a lot to it as well, plus him being an awesome fight in general.
I’m so hesitant to start Journey 2 cuz I don’t wanna lose all my grace sites lmfao
Not a big deal imo, since they keep all the discovered locations plus the side locales like dungeons n ish that you found still marked on your map
Its easy af to get graces back in ng+ especially since youre overpowered af in the first half of ng+ & you have all the landmarks still marked

Micolash can easily be baited where you want him to go if you chase him strategically the correct way which is why i've never had an issue with him besides the fighting him blind the first time.
Monkey's are cool, they're a lil more unique since they gotta be baited accordingly but yeah if you not a fan of gimmick or running away bosses s*** is OD
Its because a lot of them are strong af + the high level cap in ER
I just wanna be a high strength/dex katana slashy big explodey magic man
I just wanna be a high strength/dex katana slashy big explodey magic man
U better get to the 200 levels or be dripped tf out in the stat boosting tailsmans + goddrick rune
TL;DR git gud, level up vigor, have a good thought out focused build and/or actually use spirits like the game wants u too

be honest tho who beat the monkeys without a guide?

Another reason why i dislike most gimmicks is because u can only tackle them one way one pretty much.
I like the variety, change up & planning in souls games. Another reason why i think i dont have as much of a hard time as most ppl is because if i feel like sumn isnt working against a boss, i will quickly change up my strategy & even load out to something that suits better for the fight at hand instead of bashing my head into the wall getting angry n crying that my same method isnt working, & usually that gets me through quickly.
Gimmicks there are no variety or "miracle events", its only one way the whole way. Another reason why Sekiro isnt that high up for me either, because most of Sekiro in a fresh new game you can only really tackle things one or two ways & if its not working for you youre s*** out of luck. U kinda have to smash your head against the wall.
I understand tho that some people get overwhelemed with options or feel like its "more random" if theres not one sure fire way to do sumn. Which is where i think some of the Sekrio diehards are coming from too.
be honest tho who beat the monkeys without a guide?
Me but it took a LONG TIME like over an hour maybe even 2 s*** was stupid just endlessly running around 😔🥺
I should have swallowed my pride n just looked up a guide for the seki monkeys
Would have saved a lot of frustration & confusion
To those that are having a hard time in ER with taking a lot of damage from enemies/bosses, & if you didnt kill Blackguard (hopefully u didnt):
The unique items only he sells; Boiled Prawns then at Leyndell Boiled Crab -
They negate damage A LOT for like a straight minute and are realitively cheap. Theyre consumables & he never runs out & ur char eats one fast af. Theyre a lil op n turn you into a tank.
This is what i mean by the game having tons of options n tools that have an answer to almost everything.
Def copp those, i started using them on ng+ since im powerstancing with both the soreseals on. So im vulnerable af but those help a lot.

He sells something besides Rya's necklace?!
I murdered him almost immediately

Yeah lmao
If u pay for the necklace, then after u give it to rya then come back, he actually becomes a friend and has a lot of cool interactions n lore on prisoners + himself & dung eater.
Hes really dope , i killed him in my og playthru too tho
But yeah, then he sells those unique items after you become friends with him. His bell wont have those items unless you are friends.
And theyre some of the best items in the game for both pve AND pvp
Since im actually experiencing his char in ng+ he is actually one of my fav chars now lmao.
