I was there was a simple and clear list somewhere that detailed at what point of quests you get locked out of other quests from other NPC’s

And what quests/items you get locked out of getting when you defeat x boss

Getting locked out of cool weapons or armor cause you killed one person too soon is really frustrating

The weapon you're trying to enchant is probably one of the special weapons, the ones that use Somber Smithing Stones. They usually have a special ability or damage type or something attached. All boss weapons are like that for example.

The normal ones that use the reg Smithing Stones are more customizable.
