Def push it to 40 relatively eventually if u can, its def worth it (and i'd say 40 should be the standard in the 2nd half of the game which it seems u r in) and your health gains outpace your damage gains. Health increase also increase ur resistances to ailments n weapons types naturally too.

I think i ended at 55 vigor, but naturally 50 with a tailsman that boosted it +5 to 55.

Took me a bit to learn about those too, but the guard counter is so good and thats part of what makes greatshields op in ER too. Cuz you can instantly retaliate instead of slowly getting out of the GS blocking animation after blocking someones attack n damage damn near 100 percent in most cases. As long as u have decent to great stamina youre a walking TANK TURTLE.

I should really probably stick to a build but I like having things balanced, I wanna be able to use every single weapon or spell

I’ve used a shield the whole time but never used a greatshield

I used basic brass shield and now I’m using Carian knight shield

But yeah s*** is goat, a lot of people were doing Dex n Magic originally in the first few weeks of the game (im one of the people thats been playing since launch day) so i went the opposite to see what Str n Faith is about since basically everyone was ignoring it.

Turns out it was great

Dex playstyles in ER are more "fun" tho, but Str imo is def "safer". They both play differently from one another n im doing a dex arcane build in my NG+ run which is really dope.

Greatshields block more attacks n last longer in guard mode than reg shields too, but theyre heavier to hold n slower to bring up than reg shields. Guard counters fix a lot of the drawbacks of Greatshields tho which is new in ER.

what the f*** is the point of being able to use “every weapon and every spell” you finna get hard blocked by end game bosses and have to respec into an actual build

Wouldnt make sense for her char n lore but yeah it would becool outside that.

I think if ur on the route for the Order then you should fight Marika (shes against the Order n tried to destroy the ring) + Elden, if youre on the route that goes against the Order like Ranni or Frenzy then u fight Radagon (since he's for the Order n tries to repair the ring) + Elden.

That way it still makes sense with their split lore, but also u can fight both at the end but it depends on ur actions thru out which also would add even more replay value.
