Guts greatsword with the Lion's Claw AoW was my main weapon on the first playthrough. Killed every boss except Margit/Godrick with it.

I like the Pizza Cutter and the Nightrider Flail a lot too.

oh s*** i forgot about the pizza cutter gonna have to make a BB build with that and the cannon

    POOM POOM DOOM

I was watching a RDC stream where Mark was using this Scythe weapon that shoots out this magic ring projectiles.

I need to find out where to get that.

The scythe you get from an area that has a bunch of steps leading down to little dungeons, looks like an army encampment and it's got dogs. The scythe is in one of those dungeons. The ring attack, an enemy next to Commander O'Neil has a chance of dropping

Don't even own the game, I've just been watching these boys play the game so much Saw them get Bloodhound Step from Night's cavalry too

Been playing since the day before launch day (s/o gamestop for the physical hookup), its finally over:

You can chalk 20ish hours up to idle time n co-op play but its still a genuine round 200 of legit gameplay. All I did outside of work is play this, outside of the occasional family n friends. I never play over a hundred hours in a single game ever besides two other games in my life. It's wild.

Missing only three trophies for the plat which will be done eventually on ng+, but what a long amazing journey.

I waited 4 years for this game and it genuinely met & surpassed the hype.

    S/o PS4 gang.

Been thinking about it n these are my favs of the game in order:

    Top 5 Unique Bosses:

Godfrey Hoarah (best of the game top 5 of the soulsverse)
    Maliketh
    Radahn
Dragonlord (probably the best gigantic boss theyve done its genuinely a good fight)
Red Wolf of Radagon (the actual bigger boss version that has the 2nd phase)

HM: Morgott, if Red Wolf dont count to u

    Fav Recurring Bosses:

    Elemer the Bellhunter
    Astel
    Magma Wyrm
    Dragonkin
    Ancestral Spirit

    Most Challenging Bosses:

    Godfrey Hoarah
    Maliketh
    Commander Niall Castle Sol
    Mohg Blood
    Dragonlord

    Easiest Bosses:

    Rykard
    Fire Giant
    Red Wolf of Radagon
    Margit
    Commander Niall Caelid

    Fav "Level" Areas:

    Capital
    All of the Underground
    Haligtree
    Farum
    Volcano Manor

    HM: Stormveil

    Fav Open Areas:

    Limgrave
    Altus Plateau
    Mountaintops of the Giants
    Caelid
    Mt. Gelmir

Favorite bosses: Placidusax, Maliketh, Malenia, Radahn, Rykard, Margit/Morgott

Most challenging: Malenia, Godfrey, pre-nerf Radahn, that stupid bird outside Castle Sol, Malenia again

Favorite areas: Limgrave (all of it), Volcano Manor, Lyndell sewers, Giants Peak

  • Mar 25, 2022

Imma either create a save file of my first playthru on an usb to use later before ng+ so i dont play the potential dlc(s) on ng+ level, or imma just have this be ng+ n eventually start a new profile from scratch that will be on reg ng for the potential dlc(s)

Basically, I def dont wanna do dlcs on ng+ level as my first go thru in them i aint falling for that trap b

The capital sewers felt like a classic ds1 level with all the clausterphobic-ness of it n the hella interconnected n optional paths. I loved the Shaded Castle as an optional smaller area as well.

Mountaintops of the giants is top 3 for me of the open areas too. I also like Gemir, Altus, Caelid n Limgrave of the open areas; i just added them to my post.

Game still lit 🔥 I’m around level 45 now. At the moment I’m exploring Caelid. Ended up here just randomly. Freaky place, thought it’d be way above my skill but I’ve been making it through reasonably well. Currently in the Redmane Castle

If it does get too hard dont feel bad about leaving, the two bosses of Redman are really hard & usually its better off doing Redmane after the Academy (after Stormveil), or after a later area called Altus Plateau.

How would you rank FS games rn?

    Imo:

    Bloodborne = Elden Ring > DS3 > Sekiro > DS1 > DS2

Elden & Bloodborne are the ultimate games to me, "near perfect".

DS3 & Sekiro are extremely great.

DS1 is really good, but nowadays outdated & imo a bit overrated, but for the time it was genuinely amazing; its still good in general tho minus some of the jank.

DS2 is good & imo underrated, but it is to me "objectively" the worst one still out of the "soulsverse". Not bad nor terrible, but in comparison to its siblings it is def the weakest link. It still has a lot going for it & still has some unique cool mechanics. The only thing that brings it down is that it does have some of the worst bosses n level design to a degree, but also still has great bosses n areas too as well. Also its dlcs are amongst some of the best they have done imo & def beat DS1's DLC.

I have not played Demons Souls at all (remake nor OG) but i def plan to play the remake whenever I get a PS5.

DS1, DS2 & especially OG PS3 Demons are clunky tho and what I consider the old era, i would suggest playing those last if youre new to the whole or most of the series. Bloodborne (which began the modern era) to now is when the combat & movement became really tight & honed-in while also fixing a lot of hit box & glitch issues.

Bloodborne, Sekiro & now seemingly Elden Ring (would probably be DS1 before ER) seem to be the 3 that are most people in the Souls community fav #1.

Sure thing I was initially at Stormveil but retreated to level up a bit and ended up in Caelid instead, which is definitely harder Still I’ve made progress and beat up a buncha dudes and leveled up to near 50. Going back to Stormveil now. There was a knight in a dark room there that whooped me initially so I left, but now I’m back to spank him.

Great ranking, it's pretty much the same for me except DS1 would switch with Sekiro.

DS2 has some pretty amazing atmosphere and feels nostalgic to me but probably the most frustrating FS game ever the level design and enemy placing is hell

i can't die without playing Bloodborne at least once
