Elden ring is one of the most hyped up games ever, beating twice in a row games like botw 2 and gow ragnarok, horizon never stood a chance in that aspect

I just s*** on horizon because it’s everything I don’t like about open world games bunched into one. I will say that the new one looks like a genuine upgrade, but still more of the same.

I’m just glad that the better game is getting more hype because it honestly deserves it

it looks like more of the same but when I played it, I was genuinely surprised that everything in the game was engaging. Even random characters and side quests are interesting because the quality of writing was stepped up a notch. also the main questline isn’t a predictable story about saving the world or stopping some great evil like every other fantasy rpg

Keep in mind they all played without the day 1 patch so maybe we get lucky and it fixes most of the problems

Oh I believe you for sure, it really seems like they tackled most of the flaws. Horizon fans won. However, Something about the game just doesn’t look appealing at all to me even after the improvements

they will be talked about/compared a lot because horizon 2 and elden ring will be the only GOTY contenders until late 2022 when more big games start dropping like ragnarok, botw2 and starfield

I am too, but mainly because we know jack s*** about botw2. This game tho is probably the only one that can rival it, if this game has better exploration than botw like soms reviewers are saying it'll be the standard i'll compare botw2 to

all the comparisons to breath of the wild are making me so hype man.

botw open world was so much fun to explore with the lack of quest markers, and map icons

like when they drop hints at where to go and you gotta explore and figure it out for yourself and the map isn't filled with little markers with the same 4 or 5 tasks to do over and over

that game feels like a breath of fresh air compared to almost all modern open world games (rdr2 is the exception), and the fact that elden ring is in that style, and not a map clearer. mannnn

Jason schreier saying exploration in some ways is SUPERIOR to botw is mind blowing to me, im extremely hyped and cant wait to find a game that can dethrone it
