    The Girl Is Mine, Thriller, Beat It

    Will say though, if they were gonna choose a 3 track run to hate on from this album, at least they chose a reasonable one

    Does anyone remember when that nigga on the Joe Budden podcast claimed AEOM was full of skips and Joe himself proceeded to play every track in order so he can say what the skips were and everyone was rocking with it?

    I feel the podcast space is so full of hot takes and contrarianism that many people just say something spicy and hope it'll stick but it's not even rooted in actually listening to the album. It's just throwing darts and hoping the narrative sticks.

    You can say the same thing about a lot of sports, movie, etc. discourse as well. Got niggas who hardly watched Jordan play in his prime talm bout how he didn't have a bag and s*** lol.

    What's an actual good example for the McDonalds of albums? Super successful, praised by casuals but the album just isn't that good Shouldn't be some Vanilla Ice or MC Hammer s***, an album that's still in the zeitgeist today

    I think loads of the features are skips though and there are a lot of features on the album

    something ill give props to with pac's whatz ya phone # is that i like pac’s cadence on the beat and the beat with the prince sample but it comes off to me like a forced "ladies song" that didn't need to be there, especially when theres good songs on the album that already serve that purpose like run tha streetz and ratha be ya n*a

  • This isn't even necessarily about Thriller but there are a lot of historical albums people call classic just because you are told you have to think of them as such.

    25 years into the future, people will probably call so many Taylor Swift albums classic. Yet I and many others think they are trash lol.

    So I don't agree when people act like you have to think every older album is great just because enough people back then thought so. You are allowed to believe Thriller isn't a great album.

    I'm not undermining any of those songs. It's a 9 track album. They know they can't choose any 3 track run that includes Billie Jean or PYT. Baby Be Mine also getting a lot of love lately. Doesn't leave them with much choice
