Billie Jean deadass is like the Mona Lisa of music
Just absolutely ridiculous work of art to be made by human beings
best song oat yup
Does anyone remember when that nigga on the Joe Budden podcast claimed AEOM was full of skips and Joe himself proceeded to play every track in order so he can say what the skips were and everyone was rocking with it?
I feel the podcast space is so full of hot takes and contrarianism that many people just say something spicy and hope it'll stick but it's not even rooted in actually listening to the album. It's just throwing darts and hoping the narrative sticks.
You can say the same thing about a lot of sports, movie, etc. discourse as well. Got niggas who hardly watched Jordan play in his prime talm bout how he didn't have a bag and s*** lol.
What'z Ya Phone # and Thug Passion
Even though I know its bait, I still get offended… f*** Ebro
I was going to say I like Off the Wall more than Thriller, but I think Thriller's highs and lows beat out Off the Wall just a little more. I just skip Thriller though. I can live with that like how I can skip Drunk and Hot Girls on Graduation.
Only song on Thriller that I can call a "skip" on or at least the one that I don't care for is the last track The Lady in my Life

Drunk and Hot Girls is ahead of its time. Put that song on Yeezus 6 years later and I guarantee it's nowhere near as hated as it is
The only skip is The girl is Mine
Agreed. And its not even a bad song l. It just feels out of place
What's offensive about this isn't Ebro's take. His takes usually suck and are bait meant to boost engagement.
But it's how shameless this is. Ebro positions himself as a voice for black culture(s) past and present, a gatekeeper of hip hop culture, and something of a commentator on r&b as well. To position yourself as this kind of figurehead and then say something as insensitive, historically inaccurate, and gimmicky as comparing one of the greatest albums ever made to some of the s***tiest fast food on Earth is a total betrayal of those espoused values/aspirations. Bro is no better than Lil Yachty blanketly denouncing 90s rap with this kinda take.
And no, the Paul McCartney collab is not a skip even if it isn't that good
There is only 1 skip on thriller and no its not lady in my life or baby be mine
Baby Be Mine is in contention for best song on the album bruv

now you're just making s*** up
now you're just making s*** up
Nah it's up there my guy. Some of the best songwriting on the album, iconic hook, sweet production. It doesn't stomp out of the gate the way the heavy-hitters on the album does, but the raw quality is on a par with the best on the album imo

Thing is you could make a (wrong) argument that any GOAT albums have 3 skips on them.
Like it’s all personal preference and the older the album is the more you’ve heard those songs and you get bored of them.
Like I must’ve heard billie Jean, beat it and thriller about a thousand plus times in my life. Are they now songs I would go back to and listen randomly? Probably not but that doesn’t mean they’re bad. They’re perfect pop songs.
The biggest issue is calling it McDonald’s music. Just complete disrespect and if you think that music is then honestly what makes an actual good pop song?
