He has to drop first quarter 2021 because i doubt he's gonna wait any longer than that to drop material that at that point would be 2 years old. If yall remember in the clash interview he said he's been working with material recorded during fall 2019
yea he should be ready soon

but who knows
covid has been slowing everything down, and because he's still major label-bound they might want to get physicals ready beforehand (which atm takes ages)

Obviously dont know exactly what his deal is with Warner but I wouldnt say he's major label bound. It must have been advantageous for him to want to get into it after leaving sony. He still was able to surprise drop Feet of Clay and take a more experimental direction than I imagine most major labels would be comfortable with.

I mean yeah he's not a major in the usual sense because he got his own imprint etc, but he still got some responsibilities toward them I think.
FOC was an EP and they tried the surprise drop strategy, but honestly I don't even think it worked that we'll and reception could have been more positive. I think he's gonna play it a bit more safe with the next proper album

Im like 75% sure were gonna get a alch produced tape so you might be right on the safer route

yeah I could def see this. Would make sense as a way to "pick up" some fans again he might have alienated with FOC, plus of course pick up some new ones who jumped on the Alc hype train. But on that front I also think Alc with his Grammy ambitions etc... that if they do have a whole album together they're gonna milk the commercial side of it with hype and a more standard rollout
Not even hating because I think it would just be taking rightful advantage of a great partnership which has a rich history anyway, and now there's a window where you can actually make some money with it too...
