this style is way better at capturing mood and atmosphere
Absolutely not. A track like Centurion elicits way more mood and atmosphere than anything on this. You can almost feel the sinister murky aura emanating off of it. I’m perfectly fine admitting I don’t fully get what’s he’s going for now, but thick atmosphere certainly isn’t the stylistic focus at all. It’s something else and that something could very well be brilliant and hopefully one day I recognize that. However I’ll probably never be willing to grant what you’re suggesting.
whats the issue youre having specifically
Something about that file I dled. For one, 100 high street shows 12 minutes but just plays the normal time, everything fine playing on the mac though just iPhone
im f***ing late to the party but tf is music gala? Tbh I never heard of it before.. nice cash grab i guess cant front
(if the app/site is legit and not shady) but it would piss me of i cant listen to this on my smartphone is there an app? I need void dire in the shower _ pause
First listen I like this but not more than Sick!. It’s funny cause Al is imho probably the best producer of all time and I f***ing love Earl, but Earls beat selection here was maybe a taaaaad underwhelming after one. Idk, I think I just don’t feel like anything new was brought to the table especially if you’re already a fan of Mike, Navy Blue, Wiki etc. don’t get me wrong I think it’s a good album, just not the heavy hitting first listen I would’ve hoped from this combo

These tracks are more about being soulful than moody
Lowkey I think the best Earl + producer combo for a full album would be with black noi$e

I disagree and understand
I think this album lives in a different world, and that's whatever world SRS takes up. The beats feel hot. You either get it or you don't, and if you do you f***ing love it.

Sick is basically that, black did 4 songs out of 10
it’s owned by a creator of farmville
interesting, is there more to it? Is this like a kinda shady crypto nft type website? cause I saw $GALA and hmm maybe this topic deserves an own thread, don't wanna get to off topic but I really do not like this move at all from my first impression (damn I need to listen to it now im trippinnnn)

Yeah like I definitely think this could still click hard for me eventually
SRS is a top 10 rap album of the 2010s for me. I’m definitely not giving up on this after 1 listen - just didn’t blow me away initially

Yeah word, and those songs are what make me want more of them together

Sick! had these little glimmers of what I loved about Earl’s older stuff mixed in with the stylistic sensibilities of his newer work and that was refreshing. I was hoping this would extrapolate on those moments, but I guess not. Again it’s still solid for what’s it’s doing. It’s just what it’s doing doesn’t resonate with me the way it seems to for everybody else apparently.

It genuinely bums me out that I just don’t get it. I wish I was hearing this the way many of you do.
cant believe i had to sign up to this site ii feel violated... like my house just got burgled
I just noticed these extra NFT things on the site. You can be in a music video, FaceTime, or actually smoke with them irl
We need to get someone on here in a vid
I bet earl wanted this thing to be 10 tracks and Al pushed him to add at least one more, I can definitely imagine a scenario like that
