Not exactly tweaking
SICK! was confirmed to be originally 19 tracks
Sick is not the same album as The people could fly. It was never 19 tracks
I don’t know how to explain it. It’s a combination of his release schedule, his live performances of unreleased songs, and his brevity as an artist that combine to leave fans perpetually starved no matter what he does (short of dropping a Donda length album lmao, which doesn’t sound exactly good either). Or maybe I’m tweaking

U know what I mean
Id love to know what's his personal favorite of all the projects he's done so far, what do you guys think he would pick

Still a shame that album is lost forever, sounded like a dope concept

Nah definitely do feel perpetually starved. Primarily cause he disappeared for so long between IDLS and SRS. Just feels like we're still playing catch up.

it’s moreso the nigga making songs purposefully under 2-3 minutes half the time
Earl is brilliant and one of my favorite artists of all time but everything post-SRS kinda felt a little half-baked in spite of there being gems on each project(s) that he released
the brief approach worked great on SRS because it was a very emotionally heavy and introspective project compared to the wholes of Feet of Clay or Sick! where he’s just sort of barring out
a capable rapper on some Alc loops is much needed though, so im looking forward to this s***
this thread gonna have a stroke when they see that the runtime is 17 minutes
wouldn’t even be surprised
20 Wave Caps was lowkey ahead of its time btw
Actually played this for the first time in a while yesterday crazy track

Excuse me

I feel you, I knew rip Tracy and making the bands by heart before sick even came out (my fault) which barely came out and the chances of this short tracklist having songs we’ve heard years ago is there even tho I’m hyped regardless

To me it's just cause SRS is 15 tracks and the others aren't. So SRS feels a lot less brief despite being such a similar length.
The brief approach is fine but I think you have to compensate for it with a slightly heftier tracklist.

yeah idk what it exactly is but it just feels generally half assed/lazy imho
like Earl was never someone to make long projects, all of his projects are mostly 30 minutes or below, but Doris and IDLS have their own atmosphere and general feel to them that Sick! and Feet Of Clay just don’t really have lmao, they don’t feel very cohesive or fully fleshed out
i could possibly just prefer older Earl over his newer stuff too, so who even knows
This is currently my favorite Earl x Alchemist collab, but I’m sure that’s going to change pretty soon

My thoughts, dreams, plots, and my schemes
That's what's on my mind when I toss in my sleep
My heart like my pen when I jot and it bleed
My cart full of sin, when I shop it's a spree….
On the bright side
The tracklist being today’s breadcrumb makes me think we getting the full thing Friday
we made it
Free the ruler

That's what i was thinking too, also cause Al tweeted earlier saying "you're almost there"
