to me in essence its just texture, its the same reason using extras colours and broad paint strokes evoke extra emotion in a painting
i could go into specifics but its counter intuitive to break down art too much - reminds me of a quote from a recent piece i read on mavi, something about not shining a torch into the dark corners of the s***. end of the day u either fw it or you dont & thats cool but yea its just texture & expression in a really interesting emotionally evoking way, b.
It’s not just the mixing it’s the way all songs are one verse, slow cadence and delivery, no hook or chorus, something feels wrong. I feel like if both SRS and this were instrumental albums I would love them more

Overall, FoC is pretty good. East has grown on me but I’m still mixed as I’m still trying to figure out what he’s going for. Obviously he’s entering a new phase artistically, maybe he’s still working on perfecting it?

Earl basically being experimental as of right now with his lyricism. And people don’t realize this man in his sample bag with these Lofi beats/mixing. This may not be the earl that most want but we can’t deny that this s*** is amazing and unique.

I guess it would sound “wrong” if you’re used to listening to pop music this sound would def be an acquired taste
