Paul is not a good person.
He didn't do anything in the film for you to say that though
Please tell me someone has stills from the Lisan Al Gaib/meeting in the south
Probably one of the greatest scenes I've seen in a cinema in years damn
The Jesus Christ parallels as Paul is walking through the crowd were amazing
I’m guessing I’m one of the few who liked Timothee and Zendaya chemistry
Imma be honest, I didn't care for Chani at all.
There too many things going on in part two the movies is too short
Gurney showing up halfway through
Lady jessica just looking menacing and not speaking the whole second half of the movies
Rabban whole arc is just
Compare to part one plot that just flow naturally
I can understand why someone wouldn't like the part about Gurney and I myself was sitting there thinking like "did I just forget about dude being in part 1" with how chummy he was.
That being said, I feel like books and even TV get to get away with introducing side guys important to the MC part way in....I guess your piece is that it doesn't fit within the flow of this movie though, while I didn't feel it was particularly jarring

I think Zendaya's always solid in the cheeky love interest role, but I really think she did well once she started having to contest the Atreides and her own faith. We won't get the full payoff for that transformation any time soon, but her performance had me pretty invested at least

Seems like no one did lol
For those who read the book, what role did Thufir Hawat wouldve had in this movie? Read all his scenes got cut to focus on the main story
Thufir got captured by the harkonnens and pretty much was forced to work for them while he tried to destroy them from the inside I’m pretty sure it was his idea to not have the fighter guy d***ged also he thought Jessica was the traitor
lol people still don’t get that Pail ain’t no savior huh … well I guess Messiah … here we go again
Austins’s elvis voice definitely slipped out a little when he was talking to Lady Fenring
Would yall consider Zendaya an A lister after this? This will likely be the sci-fi movie of the year, she’s been in the defining Spidey movie, and Euphoria may be the biggest active HBO series
He didn't do anything in the film for you to say that though
The stuff with Chani would show some questionable morals but other than that I agree. I don't see him as a hero or villain. I did see him as a hero at a point but not anymore once he became the Mahdi

Oh yeah no I meant the character

Meh I think B. What all has she been the clear lead in? I feel like A-listers have to be a clear lead in movies.
I guess she’s the lead in euphoria but so much screen time goes to the other characters too in that show. It’s a big ensemble.

True; I was thinking body of work more than her placement in that body of work, I suppose. But your definition def makes more sense, and I think that's how most ppl would evaluate it
looking at her TV and film work, Challengers (the s***ty tennis movie where she ends up getting gangbanged by some white dudes) may be her first production where she's the sole star

Did you read the script for Challengers? I’m hoping it’s not s***ty but the trailer was so cliche

I haven't but I think that trailer came out around the same time we were getting home runs like Asteroid City, Barbenheimer, etc, and they picked the worst time humanly possible to drop that filth.

yeah it didn’t draw me in at all. And I liked his previous movie “bones and all” so we’ll see
I’m guessing I’m one of the few who liked Timothee and Zendaya chemistry
timothee wasn’t into her
you could tell he was f***ing with florence, sasoire, lilly, arnie and taylor on his other movies
I may need to think deeply over why I just called asteroid city a home run
because it was
Damn I felt so bad for Chani at the end
As someone who hasn't read the books I thought Paul was gonna do some crazy s*** when he walked over to the Emperor and kill the Empress and end up with Chani coz he was unhinged at the end there
U gonna feel even worse when u find out in part 3 😁
