Feel like that might be why they've started development so early now, makes sense if they still plan on releasing it further out in a few years
could picture them filming some scenes right after part 2's ending & then maybe taking a break in production to allow a time gap/letting the actors age a little
but at the same time who knows, they might maybe skip the time gap altogether the way they did with Part 2
I've thought about this, them just skipping most the time jump but why would they get anya then? makes me think we get a time jump mid movie

Yeah same I’m mainly wondering now that they’ve got anya onboard, wether or not they do a timeskip on Timmy
I’m sorta picturing wether they do some sort of change where she ends up aging rapidly like the Renesmee baby from twilight so they can have both actors in the same time frame, really hope they don’t go that route
It’s definitely a hurdle they’ll have to reckon with & i have no clue how

yeah i have so many questions
imagine them trying to adapt childern of dune and god emperor after also
if they even do
plus i think chani will come back to paul idk how but i can't imagine them ending them plus chani dying in child birth would be pretty tragic to not do and you can't do any of the future books really without the twins
he even says "she'll come around i've seen it"
alia is 12-16 in dune messiah if it follows the book but she seems older in the flashback, I mean paul is 15-18 in dune so ages really are prob a bit diff in the movies. i wonder if we'll get to see alia be born and then flash forward to her being older later on
you have read the books? is it different n the book then in the movie ?
After rewatching part 1 and 2 close to each other, I gotta say I love this world man, and I kinda prefer part one to part two in some ways

yeah I'm finishing god emperor right now
got 2 books left
whole saga is 6 books
dune messiah (the book part 3 will adapt. has been my least favorite but they're all really interesting... he has a unique writing style)
there are some changes but he's stayed faithful to the overall vision of the books so far
like when he makes a change he stays with the view the author had still if that makes sense
things were defintely condensed and shown on screen instead of explained in detail but i think denis did a great job at doing that with part 2
there are many changes but the two that stuck out the most for me
in the book chani realizes that paul still loves her and goes along with the marriage for the throne, instead in this one she almost starts leading a rebelion against him.. denis thinks that really lets us relate with her and she shows us paul is becoming a power hungry leader that wants vengeance at any costs
it reminds of the star wars prequels actually lol, like she hates what he is becoming but then dies in child birth having his twins
also the barron is killed by alia cause it happens over like 5 years, so she kills him instead of paul
if i ever use a spoiler in this thread it could be for any of the books just be warned
lead them to paradise
saw some people saying the next movie will combine Dune Messiah and Children of Dune together which makes sense as Dune Messiah isn’t that long of a book
i could see that but id rather see the holy war instead of just copy the book
turn childern into it's own trilogy with god emperor maybe

Was Paul secretly a Harkonnen in the book as well

yup it's part of the Bene Gesserits plan for the Baron to have a daughter who will then have another daughter with Leto Atreides to mate again with the Barron's nephew Feyd-Rautha and make their Kwisatz Haderach.

Now that Feyd Rautha is dead I wonder what's next with that whole plan

read Dune Messiah lol
read Dune Messiah lol
Oh, so i can just dive into that one? I don't need to read the first book? Thought maybe the deviations from the book would confuse someone who's only seen the films

you might want to watch some youtube videos on the book dune or articles on changes but nah I think you could read or listen to the audiobook for messiah
the movie could be different but they have plans in messiah
the chani difference would prob be the most confusing part imo
You are a Harkonnen, Paul.
You are the grandson of Vladimir Harkonnen, the Baron of Lankiveil. You are the son of Lady Jessica, the Baron's daughter. You are the heir to House Harkonnen, one of the most powerful and feared houses in the Imperium.
You are a Harkonnen, and you must embrace your destiny.
You must learn to use your power, to wield it ruthlessly and without mercy. You must learn to be cunning and manipulative, to always be one step ahead of your enemies. You must learn to be a Harkonnen.
It will not be easy. The Harkonnens are not a kind or gentle people. They are cruel and vindictive. They will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
But you are a Harkonnen, and you are stronger than them. You are smarter than them. You are more ruthless than them.
You will rise to the top, Paul. You will become the Baron of Lankiveil. You will become the most powerful man in the Imperium.
And you will do it all in the name of House Harkonnen.
You are a Harkonnen, Paul. Embrace your destiny.
