I don’t get how Duncan either
what?
This was a good movie but definitely overrated. Waiting three years didn’t do it justice and I think the movie should’ve been an hour longer. Spent like an hour and a half world building and the payoff was good but nowhere as where it should’ve been for a sequel where the stakes were meant to be MUCH higher.
I was acc suprised at Chalamets acting ESPECIALLY when he finally drinks Water of Life was insane, the tone and the entire movie completely changed and it was definitely the highest of both of the movies. I’m just disappointed that the stakes they kept building for the entire two movies was not as long as it should have been.
It sounds like i’m hating but it’s still an amazing theatre movie and I already bought tickets to rewatch it tomorrow and on Saturday for 70mm.
I feel like Austin modeled some of his performance after Nicolas Hoult in Mad Max, but less crazy
Also the scene when paul was walking thru the crowd of ppl like jesus was insane
one of the hardest shots in film history
if Dennis is some how too busy doing other movies and somehow can't make the next movie, pass off the sequel to George Miller

Too many epic shots and lines in this film. Thank you denis 😫

Even if i have to wait 10 years, i need my goat to finish me off

Nah bruh let this s*** sit for a few days. Our human minds cannot process what just happened after post-watch. This how i felt too
Even if i have to wait 10 years, i need my goat to finish me off
???
The pacing was good for the most part except for how Paul kinda suddenly became this outspoken warmonger.

Honestly dude is too much of a pretty boy
Honestly dude is too much of a pretty boy
He just needs some eye bags and he good
I guess im just not a fan of the entire thing bc I liked it just about as much as the first one which is, not really. some of those letterbox review are actually insane, these people will drop their fives to fours and threes after one rewatch im sure
maybe I just dont care for these actors in particular bc they dont glue for me like that and I find their characterization paper thin
Honestly dude is too much of a pretty boy
It's true. He needed be to roughed up a bit. A few scars or something
Me favorite singular moment may have been when one of the atreides dudes was about to stab feyd rautha and he just starts f***ing laughing and slobbering and telling the little freaky demon minions to stay back.
“STAY BACK
”
I may have already said this but one of my favorite moments so far was after the orintcopter was hit and you see Paul or chani or both running to the left in a wide shot and the helicopter crashes down and hits really hard on the ground. The impact and visual of the explosion behind just insane

My favorite part of that specific moment was chani laughing like a little kid that just did something bad while running away
The one thing about the movie I felt didn't really hit as they tried was trying to hype up this bald man being a hardcore combatant.
His experience being fighting d*** upped opponents for show just makes him seem questionable. Meanwhile Paul getting real combat experience damn near everyday.
Felt like they should've just had him dominate them house atreides fellas, but I guess they didn't wanna make Atreides look mid? I feel it would work still considering they were getting beat and tortured as prisoners.

two watches in and it’s 4.5; don’t project
