I did to say this a real unnecessary bait thread
I would like to see the play counts. But if that is true then that’s understandable.
If you really do listen to MJ more than Drake then you have the right to say that. But do you really think most people itt can say the same? Or are they knee jerk saying MJ for other reasons when they’ve actually listened to way more Drake?
We both know the answer
Streaming has brainwashed and enslaved you niggas man
How is it bait?
Someone tells you to end it page 1 and no one told him he was bugging . Thats how bad the thread is

Niggas say that in literally every thread on this website
Every one of those MJ number ones had physical singles to go with it, and he also did this at a time when information wasn't at your fingertips. Its not about Drake having more weeks at #1, its about the quality of those weeks, and Drake doesn't stand a chance against MJ.

Like I said. Explain it to me then. Why would someone listen to a song much more than a different song they say they like more?
If someone has listened to one dance 200 times and beat it 50 times....they just like one dance more. And there's nothing wrong with that.
No mental gymnastics necessary.

You keep basing your statements from assumptive lenses about the mass population which is why he’s saying you’re brainwashed by streaming when there was an entire 40 year+ music industry that relied on hard sales prior to the last decade which is still fully functioning and still has the same fans who never transitioned to streaming, especially overseas
there’s no way you can know I’ve listened to beat it on vinyl 200 times versus someone listening to One Dance 200 times on Apple Music cause of a number you see on a screen lmfao. You’re brainwashed by streaming to think unless you see the number, it’s not happening

Most people do not listen to music on vinyl. If YOU know that you've listened to beat it on vinyl 200 times then more power to you. You aren't the subject of the cognitive dissonance I'm talking about
I'm specifically talking about the people who KNOW. THEY KNOW they listen to one artist WAY MORE than another yet they still choose to act like they prefer another artists music. Or act like this album they barely listen to is better than that album they play a lot.
Just making people reflect on what they say. Challenge them to ask the tough questions.
I used to be a lame teenager too, acting like this dusty artist was my favorite, this boring ass album was a classic. This and that. I just wanted it to look like I knew what I was talking about. I didn't want people to dismiss my opinion because I rarely listened to some "classic" album. But my listening habits painted a different picture and I knew that in my heart. I just didn't want to say it out loud.
Now I'm grown and comfortable. I don't give a s*** about narratives, what other people think, I have no shame in telling people what I ACTUALLY listen to and actually like to listen to. I hope we can reach a point where most people are like that because right now we just aren't. You and I both know that.
Mfw your determination on who’s the best artists dont have s*** to do with #s
Especially when you consider the best artists (black) of the 60s, 70s, and 80s had to deal with an American audience that still felt safe to outwardly hate niggas

Michael Jackson's catalog started and ended before streaming ever existed. No s*** that people would be streaming contemporary artists more than him in today's world
I don't need to stream Billie Jean ten billion times a year because I already heard it ten billion times while I was growing up
This notion that the best music is the music you listen to every single day of your life to watch a scrobble counter go up is completely asinine and anti-art
