I'm specifically talking about the people who KNOW. THEY KNOW they listen to one artist WAY MORE than another yet they still choose to act like they prefer another artists music. Or act like this album they barely listen to is better than that album they play a lot.

I used to be a lame teenager too, acting like this dusty artist was my favorite, this boring ass album was a classic. This and that. I just wanted it to look like I knew what I was talking about. I didn't want people to dismiss my opinion because I rarely listened to some "classic" album. But my listening habits painted a different picture and I knew that in my heart. I just didn't want to say it out loud.

Now I'm grown and comfortable. I don't give a s*** about narratives, what other people think, I have no shame in telling people what I ACTUALLY listen to and actually like to listen to. I hope we can reach a point where most people are like that because right now we just aren't. You and I both know that.
