The problem with Travis was he didn't have any actual memorable lines, not exactly that his lyrics were bad. They just are painfully generic

His corny lines used to be surrounded by great ones so they were excusable and even endearing. Now his corny lines just stand out so much

in some contexts it means to kill someone

in this song I think it just means to air someone's dirty laundry out to publicly shame/ embarrass them, make them feel bad, etc
