I had to delete 10 songs off of FATD to make it a listenable project for me…
Only deleted Padre on this one, but ironically feel like the RnB on this project is mostly a downgrade compared to the highs on FATD (Drew A Picasso, Polar Opposites, Tried Our Best, etc.)
$$$4U is a largely inoffensive listen consisting of many structureless half-songs slapped together, with a handful of strong records…
Was the album a true reflection of the Toronto sound & collaborative history of Drake x PND? Perhaps not fully.
Did the overall production value meet the standard set by previous Drake albums? Maybe in the context of his pre-retirement era (everything post-2018).
7/10 album. Possibly better than FATD & CLB. Not a bad listen! Sparks of genius from both parties involved.
But anyone who acts like this album is even close to what they could’ve made 8-11 years ago is smoking crypto. This album is an echo of what it could’ve been.

Just sat there. Didnt vibe with anything. Had no thoughts on it.
It is clear that these guys take payola and goes into the reaction with a clear point of how they want to react. Like they rehearsed before it. It is just so fake and unnatural.
The best reaction vids are small channels with people just doing it because they love music. They be the most objective unless they stan the opp.
Hard to find a genuine channel in that realm anymore, think all I got left that I enjoy is Mallory Bros

Okay, a bit strange but music is subjective and personal taste can be weird sometimes.
The thing in my list is that pretty much every album above FATD was number one or at least top 3 at some point. All are amazing.
So I don't mind your list or see any reason to trash it.

You cant be both a victim and one of the highest successful artists that year dawg. Nigga He had rihanna and nicki on that album man when they was hot at fish grease.
I did always say if the internet is what made drake start acting like a mobster than all he did was prove those memes right.
Cause nigga EYE was there for them Lil Wayne memes too. That s*** was 100x worse lol

Idk man. I was in 7th grade when this came out. Everyone was playing it. I wasn’t too online back then so idk what people said but irl it connected.
Yeah in real it hit just like all of his albums but the online hate was real they had the boy with his legs in the air with a coloring book for that album lmaooo the tissue memes etc

Take Care was well received. People weren’t calling it a classic until after Views dropped though. It was like overnight, because Views was hyped up so much, (amazing marketing), it didn’t live up to the hype a lot of people. People started saying Will Drake ever have a classic and boom next day you know Take Care is Drake’s classic because people felt he wouldn’t be able to make one.

Drake weathering the storm to be the next lineage in the Pharrell, kanye lifeline was what was supposed to happen.
No coincidence since IYRTITL (which yea, marked a change but still had classics like Jungle) that there began to be a shift (imo, was slow cause Views was very successful)

TheFaderYeah that’s a gripe I have with this album, as well as most of his projects since 2016. It doesn’t really feel like an “album” at all. The sequencing is horrendous.
LASERS -> MEET YOUR PADRE -> NOKIA -> DIE TRYING is just an absolutely batshit sequence of songs, feels like no thought was put into the flow of the album when you get a 4 track run like that
I genuinely think HUT has fried my brain I can’t listen to playlisty albums no more
