Wayne, Nicki, Drake, Juvenile, Manny Fresh, Birdman

If Drake’s there it completely overshadows it being a tribute to New Orleans

Juvenile, Manny Fresh, and Birdman will 100% never headline a Super Bowl Halftime stage ever I’m sorry

Post-JT, the NFL went with legacy rock bands for a few years to avoid any similar controversies. Also, The Who at that point was an extensive touring act who could pull together a stadium performance.

Manny Fresh, Birdman, and Juvenile are not

You keep harping on those three names. It would’ve been those three, plus the YM three, plus probably a Nola marching band.

It would’ve been a good show

Again, at that point it’s not a NOLA tribute if Nicki & Drake is in the lineup of headliners. Also, if that really was the plan, ALL of those people would’ve had something to say when they weren’t chosen. Clearly Wayne believed it was gonna be him himself up there on that stage

I just don’t see that. I don’t see a world where the NFL is handing 2025 Lil Wayne the reigns of a Super Bowl Halftime Show. It’s not like it’s 2015 or something, this guy is years past being a reliable live performer, let alone one that can headline a stadium performance

That just doesn't add up -- the SB has leveraged nostalgic artistry over modern hype for the most part

2020; Shakira and JLO not in their prime

2022; Snoop, 50, Kendirck, dr Dre, Mary J Blidge not in their prime (kendrick being the exception)

2023; Rhianna was not in her prime

2024; Usher was not in his prime

Waybe is at a stage in his career where the younger generation recognizes him, the players admire him, and the older audience is very familiar with him

not to mention all the crazy football references he's given us over the years

All of those people you named, while not in their primes, sure, were also extremely talented and reliable live performers who had the capacity to put together a captivating stadium show.

Lil Wayne in 2025 does not have that

They are apart of the Cash Money legacy. It would’ve been a celebration of the city and the legendary label that came from the city.

I ain’t mad at Kendrick doing it, it’s probably gonna be a great show but I can see why folks wanted Wayne

people would rather hear a milli, we taking over, let the beat build, La La, etc over what kendrick could put together

    especially at a football game

Most NFL viewers have never heard 3 of those songs

    I need y’all to remember it’s an NFL audience. It’s not a hip-hop audience.

Twitter ain’t a real place word to Dave Chappelle

Every time I’m at the Barbershop Drake getting played the beef hasn’t changed that

Its not just twitter it's the whole internet. Especially black people. Also I'm from a majority black city and when euphoria dropped literally everybody was listening to it

I love his delivery on this, people saying it sounds boring or flat or defeated but thats the point of the delivery, he feels betrayed and defeated. Drake is really good at transmitting emotion
