It's not bad, I do like it, there's just nothing really memorable about that song to me.

Not filler in a typical sense, cause drake don't miss.
But like, Furthest thing, Own It, From Time, 305 to my city, just really meh records by drake standards.
Where as most of the songs on FATD & Scorpion for me have more of a substantive and timeless feel.

even if the song was recorded a year ago and shelved and given to pressa....
why tf would he preview the beat on some next s*** in episode 2
he def rerecorded a new song over that beat
It makes sense if you just view the beats/songs as a soundtrack to the story he’s trying to tell & not previews for release for the album.

I’m leaning more towards that he sent it to pressa and didn’t like his verse and shelved until he had a plan for it. He’s hyping it up right now during these episodes and possibly has a solo version ready to drop

He's done it before.
Where he uses beats and production for atmosphere. Whether it be openings of tour, intermissions on tour, reprises at the end of shows, here for Iceman, whatever. I don't think him previewing the beat inherently means the song is coming but who knows
I'm not convinced that ANYTHING that has come out during these Iceman vlogs are on the album honestly

the new version of “National Treasure” is “Plot Twist”. Or possibly a solo version of National Treasure that turns into Plot Twist, because we do know how much Drake likes beat switches.
The reason I’m saying this because the two songs have the same 808 or bass pattern (one of them). The first time I heard this leak, I thought it was Plot Twist for that reason and then realized it’s the elevator beat after hearing the intro.
