Marvins Room
One of Drake's best without question. The mood and atmosphere it paints is dark; it's a tangled, self-justification song of need and guilt, ego and passion. That muted bass kick defines it, and the voicemail at the beginning sets the tone for the song.
To think this came just a week or so after Dreams Money Can Buy, a song that also explored loneliness (but there, in the face of vast wealth).
Some people call this era of loosies some of Drake's best. For me, this era was some of the genre's best. And Marvins Room stands out even within that high caliber minimum.
