You guys can’t be serious. Kendrick Lamar Duckworth is in no way shape or form involved in this case.

so why do you keep talking about him taking a loss

I don't think this dude is going to sell that high anymore after this, because man, he's about to bury himself with this.

He will always sell a good amount because of the diehard fanbase he’s cultivated (look at these dorks in here for example) but the days of him being “on top” in the present moment are over.

He's already out of top 5 talks his rap image is permanently damaged. Don't remember who but somebody said he's going to be done with rap now and just embrace being a popstar which I see as a likely outcome

These cases will probably be settled with him getting out of his current deal and from there he'll make pop hits. Very curious as to how much effort the industry will put into pushing his music now with these lawsuits

Oh yeah rap features are over.

Kendrick Lamar rapped this nigga out the genre.

The focus on the beef is overshadowing the real issue at hand. This lawsuit revolves around billions of dollars and a record contract dispute, which could fundamentally reshape the music industry.

Similar to how Taylor Swift disrupted the system by re-recording her albums, Drake is making a bold move. He alleges that he fulfilled the terms of his contract, but the label conspired against him during renegotiations. The outcome of this case will likely influence how future deals are structured and negotiated.

Ps. Anyone I get why he’s also angry about the Pedo s***. How many deals did he miss out on with these false accusations.

    We talking billions here -

"Representing PDV Holding, Inc. (“PDVH”), the U.S.-based subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. ("PDVSA"), in ongoing litigation in the Southern District of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the New York Court of Appeals addressing the validity of $1.9 billion worth of bonds purportedly issued in 2016 by PDVSA, and defending PDVH against parallel securities litigation filed by bondholders. "

So here's the thing, your idea is right but you are misinformed.

Everyone knows that record labels have been up to shady s***. This has been known since the beginning. This is where you are right.

What you are misinformed on is the nature of the complaint. People are already debunking a lot of his claims. Drake's claims are incorrect, wrong time, wrong place. This is what you're missing out on. Not to mention that this rap beef is highly publicized. Highly publicized events gain a lot of visibility. So, if Kendrick drops a diss track and it's what people want to hear, the people will play the song over and over again.

Way to try and sound informed while showing you have absolutely zero experience in the subject, pure conjecture and refuted nothing I said, congrats.

Facts, which is why I been saying Dot took it too far. He went after literally everything and Drake’s only real defense was pursing legal action. He essentially hit him + had backup from UMG, it was a dirty play.

I think pretending like drake didn’t do egregious s*** in this beef is wild though. Kendrick literally warned him not to take this certain places.

I think a part of this that most of us probably have little concept of, but after wacced our murals we kinda get an idea for how serious Kendrick took it is Drake putting money in the streets. Kendrick warned him don’t f*** with my family, and I think putting money on the streets made Kendrick feel like his family was in danger (he says this in the song)

What do you think is happening here? You think he’s just doing this for an optic victory?

    This is bigger than rap.

Ummm yes he is doing this for optics. These aren't lawsuits with any advanced evidence collection lol they're petitioning to get alleged evidence Drake would need later for an actual case.

This petition is specifically worried about defamation and Drake's image. Drake only is going after "the man" cus he took a PR hit and is mad about it

Does it matter in the grand scheme of saving music?

    Look what y’all care about.

UMG/Lucian did not like Kanye not only getting out of his deal, but also into a new incredibly lucrative one, while STILL BEING ABLE TO OWN ALL HIS MASTERS!
They stopped pushing his music as a result, treating him as a quasi-independent artist, out of pure jealousy and greed. He still sold incredibly well.
Heads are hot at UMG. People are furious.
There were talks of “ending Kanye” for quite a while before the beef. God’s Plan was as clear choreographed a UMG-coordinated smear campaign as we’ve ever seen. Label heads playing God without a care for who notices or what may result.
Well this is what it looks like when the little man fights back. There will be massive repercussions from this. Kanye may be in physical danger going forward, as I’ve said before this is nothing short of an Activist moment from Kanye, I’m almost to the point of tears because we’ve been able to see it all play out in such a moving/sudden way. Just wow, man.

See how easy it is to make you sound out your mind like the niggas ya’ll made fun of for years?

I dont see how he is ever gonna be promoted the same way ever again. He may not even be in the picture in general

2 lawsuits on your bosses isnt a good look at all. His core fans might have a hard time finding new stuff about him at this point
