Yeah. Don't get it twisted, Ye's drop off in quality is still due to how scatterbrained he is nowadays but Kanye choosing to burn the bridges he did with the big 3 led to him being less of a priority with them and DSPs.

Kendrick is doing his own thing with pGLang but UMG will still push his product, clear his samples and such because they're a distributor for him.
People don't realize Beyonce has been independent since like 2011 with 4 which she released through her own label Parkwood entertainment but guess what.. she uses Sony to push product through a distribution deal with them through Columbia.
Idk Tyler's situation as of late but I know when he had OF records they had a distribution deal with Columbia which is under Sony as well

Maybe Drake really got something or he doesn't, but I'm not convinced that this move completely keeps him outta the murk, and that has nothing to do with him particularly and more so to do with label tactics. The difference now is obvious, but like I said, I'm just gonna wait for evidence. Trying not to speculate.
