you do know they don't reveal every bit of evidence they have or suspect is out there in the filing. that's the point of discovery.

Ah yes, so let’s release a DJ Akademiks YouTube video (known rapist, serial abuser) in our evidence

I mean you’re speaking in theoreticals that’s cool and honestly I’m for that

as it stands right now drake is still the establishment, the industry and he realizes the leverage they have

Maybe somewhere along the line before this he changed his mind and perhaps we are seeing the unfolding of that but its too early to say

His history and status quite literally says the opposite, he used the industry and establishement (like any ofher artist, not knocking drake) to succeed alongside his natural talent, team, etc

I think his deal is very different than the standard so establishment feels like the wrong way to pain him but I get your point that he's had a symbiotic relationship with the labels and music establishment for a long time

but he's been saying things like this since 2016

"Plus I never met nobody from my label, nigga
I just pop up with the music then they pay a nigga, yeah"

if he was deciding that he was going to ditch them you would expect it would go something like

    • they try and tarnish his image to keep him from being a threat to their business model, using their signed artists
    • drake starts to release music on his own
    • they copyright claim it
    • drake sues them for something

I see you still don't understand. That's not the only evidence, they may not even use that in court if it even gets there. It's for a pleading.

People trying to turn this into Drake being some sort of Robin Hood figure are genuinely insane. This nigga has no other motivation beyond the historical ass whooping he took this summer

Look it’s really not that complicated what’s going on behind the scenes in terms of industry politics. The lawsuit very literally states what it thinks happens and it’s clear if you read in between the lines

Drake has a deal with republic
Kendrick has a deal with Interscope
Both republic and Interscope are UMG
NLU’s success (legitimate or not) diverted funds from UMG away from republic and onto Interscope
Drake believes there was an behind the scenes/“dirty” reason for diverting the funds to Interscope

Both people are essentially the “bad guy” here
    Drake just wants more money
UMG has (allegedly but let’s be honest probably true) some shady s*** going on where they want to use exaggerated metrics to heighten shareholder confidence and pad paychecks

It’s stupid this is being made into a commentary on beef because it’s just guys arguing over money

Imagine being a British artist and seeing Drake on the cover of “Best of British” playlist

Miss me with that Drake fighting for the little guy BS

And people claim Drake is paranoid. There is a big agenda to tear him down, because he is a threat to their model.

Drake been for artists for a long a time.

Any artist should applaud him for suing the s*** out of these f***ing labels. Who plant artists and spike their numbers, for their own benefits where they get all the money and not the artists.
