Youre not rich cause you stan Drake idiot
But what if I am actually richer than 99% of this site, ever thought of that? #trustfundbaby
They don't want to pay Drake another 400M bag because unlike any of his contemporaries, he runs through these deals with relative ease so as they're negotiating, they're drowning drake's value, and used not like us as a proxy to do so via illegitimate and illegal means
At least that's what Drake is essentially getting at with this
Thank you. You and @OvOJersey can explain this s*** way better than I can.

I know you’re not
The lawsuit specifically claims to have proof UMG entered into an arrangement with Spotify under which UMG accepted less royalties per stream in exchange for promotion, and states UMG’s Interscope division had motivation to inflate streams to mislead shareholders into inflating bonuses for their division CEO. It also claims to have knowledge employees were fired in retaliation for their involvement with this
There’s a lot of frivolous bullshit in the lawsuit too, but given Drake has a relationship with UMG through Republic, this really seems like he has some gripe with the label behind the scenes and it’s not about the beef directly. The suit isn’t a full lawsuit but an attempt to essentially get the state to subpoena evidence from UMG and Spotify. It seems like this is a last resort to try and force certain information public - not saying if it’s a good decision or not, but he has a real firm handling it
So basically they are arguing that Spotify/UMG briefly lowered the value of a “stream” or how they convert streams to “sales” to artificially boost the song while everyone else in the industry was playing by the rules?
My girl was having a moment on the phone when gnx dropped and I told her “can I call you back?” And thank god she didn’t check IG that day cause it was on my story minutes laters lmaoooo
Lmaooooo

that doesn’t change what i said
Drake clearly didn’t go independent because he realizes the leverage the labels have in other areas of his career
if he truly believed he had more leverage he would’ve just cut ties back then, there’s a reason why only certain artists like Russ go that route and are successful and compare his status with Drake’s.
300 pages
it honestly should be more.
One of the most bizarre and (potentially) groundbreaking moments in Hip-Hop if this goes to a full fledged lawsuit with discovery
And before you even see the evidence you have formed very intricate theories that Drake is in the right?
Even with the case itself referencing a “hacker” that was proven cap months ago?
idk bro I just got off work and haven't read the whole thing, I just saw s*** on twitter and got on ktt
I thought kendrick was doing botting a long time ago. seems pretty obvious to me

I can see the labels getting greedy, yeah. Lucien did say he has a blank check book whenever drake wants to move so
I think we’re in agreement on all points besides “bots didn’t have any significant impact” in the beef
they clearly did imo and that will be a net negative for kendrick if proven true
time will tell I suppose
I think that it’s pretty likely that both parties had bots - Kendrick accused Drake of using bots and influencers on 6:16. You can easily spot bots for both artists if you go on Twitter. I think that when you look at the beef on its face, the reason it went the way it went is because Kendrick played the game better.
I typed up a whole novel detailing why but realized it was excessive lmao. End of the day, go back and look at the beef play by play and it’s obvious that Kendrick outplayed him.
Did you just make up your own settlement terms?
I swear yall dont read. It says "could" of course I made it up. I'm theorizing on what it could be. Settlement terms can be nearly anything
My girl was having a moment on the phone when gnx dropped and I told her “can I call you back?” And thank god she didn’t check IG that day cause it was on my story minutes laters lmaoooo
Bro u lucky asl she ain’t log in that day
Amidst all this pandemonium I just want to point out that British food is unfairly and harshly judged tbh it's not that bad pretty basic but roasted meat n taters slaps gravy slaps u can keep that blood pudding shi but even baked beans ain't that bad I said what I said and if u wanna argue I'll happily enter litigations
No other artist is going to go after UMG besides maybe Taylor. In the pre-action it says Kendrick might have not even known NLU was being botted. The same thing can be said for Drake.
You don't think Drake realizes UMG might have done the same thing for him?
Drake is trying to give more power back to artists but for whatever reason ya'll can't see that.
It’s the timing of it. Doing it after losing the beef and pointing to NLU as the smoking gun is why people will disregard any of this even if he wins.
If he was planning this why even engage in the beef. He could have deaded it or not even responded.
it honestly should be more.

:mjshock: oh no the labels use leverage to boost their artists reach

Well yeah you’re a Drake fan and it was confusing to you why everyone was supporting Kendrick
But sometimes the most simple answer is the truth
Kendrick won

This s*** is so crazy
Russ isn’t getting his face pushed on Spotify during an album run or his song auto-playing on YouTube without label backing, it doesn’t matter if he had a $3 million $30 million or $300
that doesn’t change what i said

I think he does think he has the leverage and I think he actually does
the leverage lies in all the money they stand to lose if one of the biggest artists in the world decides to set a new precedent
