To your last point, really what Drake needs to do to stop this downward spiral is make an artistic, more experimental album. The same way Kendrick has been making it a point this year to prove he can do what Drake does if he wants (make chart topping hits), Drake needs to prove that he can do what Kendrick does if he wants (make critically acclaimed art).
I think Drake’s focus over the years of commercial success has lost him respect from the Hip Hop community. He needs to lock in and release a project that goes beyond being catchy and into that timeless music category.
