Wouldn't a situation like Family Matters and NLU gunning for #1 and dominating for weeks earn them more money than just picking Kendrick? Does Drake not make UMG more money comfortably?

For his sake i'm hoping there's wayy more to these allegations but it really does feel like Drake listens to his fan pages verbatim and acts on claims they make. Like why are they mentioning the siri thing here as evidence of payola

very brave of Drake to speak up.

he and other artists have benefited from these mega-corps working together, through payola, algorithm tweaks, and other questionable methods. But ultimately, this makes the corps more powerful and wealthy.

unfortunately for them, Drake has become too powerful. Few other artists have the financial security and influence needed to challenge such a corrupt industry.

we should all applaud his efforts to push for a fairer, more equitable industry for everyone, and not just the chosen few handpicked by the elites who control it.

Well based on the suit information we have so far, Drake and his attorneys have concrete proof of the botting and artificial fluffing happening on some level behind the scenes. Universal will throw PG Lang under the bus first like you said. We all know Kendrick doesn't answer to anyone anymore, they handle everything on their own so it has to be them. All major artists bot on varying levels though. If UMG really lowered licensing cost for Spotify in exchange for marketing perks for the song that's a major thing.

I don't think this is like, some enormous grand conspiracy that goes up to Lucian Grainge though.
