drake gotta find some new s*** to talk about
a 40 year old man struggling to get a girlfriend is pretty normal, lets get real
I personally think it would be interesting to hear a completely different POV from Drake but it would also be insincere for him to make up a new life to talk about on songs if its not how he's really living. Like he said on Jumbotron, " Every time I tell you how I feel I don't fake S***".
and to be real, the evolution of his content from being captain save-a-stripper to admitting he himself needs to be rescued can be seen as a leap forward in terms of mindset & what he wants out of relationships.
i mean, casual s***with ig thots and manifestation are pretty cool themes
drake gotta find some new s*** to talk about
Can you name some songs with this subject matter? Him talking about wanting to settle down and get away from the club life is pretty new
It is, you’re right but to me it’s natural character development. More than anything it’s actually his life
He really is a single nigga that’s 37 still at Kiki on the river tryna f*** on hoes
I think if you are invested into the drake story, then why would you want him to deviate from that?
Do we not want to hear where 37 year old drake is at in comparison to his 23 year old self?
i agree that it’s an honest reflection of where he is
i’m just becoming less invested in the story because i’m not really hearing any emotional/spiritual growth
it feels like i’m hearing the same content over and over with different melodies and cadences

"Outside of the club, outside of the things that a man like me wants"
Not sure if this has been posted yet but taken from the leak site:
"I like this song but the pre-chorus / chorus / post-chorus was too long and repetitive for my taste so I cut it up to flow better imo. Got the run time down to 2:58 versus the original 4:34 without trimming any good parts
Cut post-chorus in half (because it's just a repetition of the same few lines)
Trimmed a half-second at the beginning so no weird sound
Faded the outro slightly to sound better
Started song on the first verse instead of the long ass pre/post chorus part
Played the Kardashian sample over the little bridge part which sounds nice together
Cover art is from Drake's IG story the day this dropped
Used @beanerish's fire remaster so shoutout him
Original song order was:
Intro
Pre-Chorus / Chorus / Post-Chorus
Kardashian sample
Verse 1
Pre-Chorus / Chorus / Post-Chorus
Bridge
Verse 2
Pre-Chorus / Chorus / Post-Chorus
Outro
Restructured song order:
Intro
Verse 1
Pre-Chorus / Chorus / Post-Chorus (post-chorus cut in half)
Kardashian sample / Bridge (played together)
Verse 2
Pre-Chorus / Chorus / Post-Chorus (post-chorus cut in half)
Outro"

I like it better this way as well.
I feel very conflicted bout that beat switch for some reason
Kinda sound sa mess tbh I hate when producers do the filter or pitch down n throw it in the background like it’s all good
i agree that it’s an honest reflection of where he is

Well if you’re not invested in the story anymore then that’s different. That’s fine. Some people grow out artists and their content
I think with rare exception artists don’t really deviate from their source material all that much and I personally would rather hear drake rap and sing about his life, and his ever going saga with b****es than switch up
It’s like, a super famous superstar can find b****es but because of the lifestyle the connections aren’t strong and don’t last, so he makes music about that. I think that’s ‘new’

Drake is setting himself up to be the Bruce Springsteen of Rap
At the Hoover show Drake showed gratitude for being able to perform alongside his quote brother running through the greatest catalogue of all time

"rappers are fake we can all point 1 out"
@Vietbrah this gon be on streamin?
Doubt it
Takе me out the club, take me out the trap
Take me off the market, take me off the map
I'm tryna hit the group chat and tell em it's a
Wrap
Drake rly a 37 year old Rap superstar and waiting patiently on the day he can tell the groupchat someone cuffed him
