There's a whole generation of kids who right now are identifying with him as the "Not Like Us" guy, mostly because that's his most visible song in the last 7 years. The content of the song, the fact that it directly involved Drake and the fact that it'll likely end up as his biggest hit record ever are a combination of things he'll eventually come to resent. He'll go on having fans who keep demanding he performs the song at shows long after the lustre of it wears off.
For all the talk about Back to Back, the one thing Drake has always understood with all his rap beefs is to never make them a bigger moment than they needed to be. The same day he put Back to Back/Charged Up on DSPs was the same day Hotline Bling went up on DSPs. He knew not to let Back to Back be his big summer moment, even though the call in his beef with Meek was that he won. By August/September, Hotline Bling is a massive hit record, late September, he drops WATTBA and October, drops the music video for Hotline Bling, which made the song a cultural staple. All those moves, including Work with Rihanna being a massive hit led to Views being the massive era it was. He knew that career music — not rap beef music — was the momentum he needed to ride into the release of Views.
Kendrick's mistake is trying to lead an entire campaign into his next album on the momentum of Drake hate. I might end up being wrong but for as long as I've understood it, people showing you love/support mostly because of the disdain they have for someone else, will never be sustainable. I don't know why people seem to think that everyone who supported Kendrick's diss tracks as a way to s*** on Drake will automatically show up and support his next album.
Spoiler alert
You will end up being wrong like all the rest of your Kendrick takes that have aged terribly in the last few years and that’s coming from a huge Drake stan
the last 4 features were quite telling he's moved on
They were 2 songs he recorded before the beef & 2 songs where he directly mentions/trolls the beef. He dropped the last song & Kendrick never responded. Why does Drake need to keep dropping songs?
Do we think Drake drops when the music video for NLU does? But again, what could he possibly say this time...
As a huge Drake stan we can’t turn on Winter for being logical
We have to gaslight him until logical seems illogical like what real friends do
Wildest part of this battle is people making it their entire personality on social media lmaoo idk what these people’s will do when s*** dies down even further.

Drake most likely will move on and stay away from the beef now, nothing he can do to change anything tbh, I can see him dropping his single tho with that MV if it’s a banger

Yeah, that's definitely been the weirdest part of this whole thing.
As a huge drake fan…
The best move for Drake now would be to completely move on from this beef. There's absolutely nothing to gain from still trying to go at Kendrick because nothing he says/does will change the public perception that he lost. If anything, it'll only make people call him a sore loser. His only focus now should be putting together the best album possible for his next release. Get back to what really matters.
The best move for Drake? Said it before and I’ll say it again, he needs to develop a serious heroin habit before recording any more music. This would be the best possible career move for him.
He would produce a deranged, dark, d***ged out experimental album that would be praised. He’d give grizzly accounts of life and the situations he gets into while being a fiend, and hustling pills on the side to fuel his addiction as people begin to distance themselves from him. Soon it would come out about his addiction and the media would be buzzing. Scandal after scandal would arise and he’d be the most talked about person in the world as he continues down this dark path of addiction and insanity. Then, he would get arrested for possession and do a stint in jail, adding credibility to the hard image he’s been trying to adopt for sometime. The #FreeDrake movement would be like nothing we’ve ever seen before and it would spark an international conversation about how we treat addicts (rehabilitative vs punitive punishment.
Drake would get out, get clean, and become the face of the opiate epidemic sweeping North America, opening him up to even wider audiences and platforms. His first album after release would sell a million first week and be praised, as Drizzy explores a whole new realm of lyrical content reflecting on his past degenerate behavior and becomes a symbol of hope for millions dealing with addiction. This would be great for his image, solidify him as one of the greatest rappers ever, and create worldwide change that benefits millions for years to come.
The best possible thing drake could do for his career is to start doing as much dog food as possible, as soon as possible.
