Kendrick caught feelings bc Drake expected the energy behind Control to be real.
Since it wasn't, Drake didn't understand the hype behind it. Drake continued to answer questions about it while doing promo for his album, while still speaking positively about Kendrick describing him as someone who is a genius in his own right and excellent at creating moments.

Arguable back handed compliment at one point when he asked if it was still being listened to now weeks after it came out which I don't take as backhanded it was a leak the verse was forgettable outside of the shock of saying rappers names. Which shows how gossipy hip hop is as a genre and fans.
