As albums I have TPAB, DAMN, UU, and S80 all over Drake's albums. I don't think Drake has the experiences to make those kind of albums. Like Drake don't come from Parliament Funkadelic and a culture like California, Canada is a significantly smaller market. So to game a compilation of music solely about those experiences, down to the sounds of the music, is something Drake doesn't do. He's a playlist artist, which the albums reflect the moods and settings he's either in our interested in

I think the playlist aspect is better because Kendrick falls short on what I deem to be transparency

Drake didn't come from... is genuinely wrong.
Drake grew up on all of those classics, look at his dad and uncle, look at the videos of him and his dad singing the classics when he was a kid. Look at the video of him back in the day showing of his basement setup at his moms spot, he literally made a table that had a bunch of 60-80's legends as the faceplate to the glass.
Anyone can listen to an album anywhere in the world.
Edit - Also look at all the samples, you think he doesn't know or relate is wild.

You should do yourself a favor a listen to NWTS with the lyrics pulled up, track 1-13. Then listen to it backwards track 13-1 then watch Memento. Then tell me drake makes playlists. He stopped doing this because no one cares.

There's a monumental difference when there's a Black man in the home everyday. He has those things, but he doesn't have the culture that came with it, that makes everything completely different and a big reason Kendrick was able to disarm him. Even in his collecting now, you can tell there's vitriol within himself for that reason. Whether it's a reference to a signature fading, or potentially melting down jewelry to taught someone else, those things when recognized from people of the culture is a red flag. I love Drake and been listening for almost 20 years, but some s*** is obvious

Love NWTS but it doesn't have any real growth or related subject matter outside of women and paranoia. Phenomenal soundscape though. Not taking that over any of the 4 Kendrick albums I named

You got it. Ignore me pointing out NWTS is a concept piece while continuing tell me Drake doesn't put effort in after I just said no one cares. Then you prove it because he doesn't have the same cultural background.

You are pearl clutching about a millionaire buying another millionaires chain, this is so sad. This has nothing to do with blackness which is just a political construct from white folks sold to black folks, to maintain class power. Go off to the mixed guy whose mom, 2 little brother and 3 out of 4 grand parents are black who also lived in black neighborhoods my entire youth. The blackness is why the art is or isn't hitting in the genre owned operated and marketed by white people and corporations is crazy, hip hop is cooked.
