Funny enough Drake cares about the genre or at least used to. Which is why he gets so sensitive over the opinions of these old hiphop heads because he used to look up to these guys. That's why any time Joe Budden says something critical of Drake he ends up dropping rap songs directly after.

Because if it was important, everyone would keep this same energy for other artists (dr dre, Kanye, the list goes on) but they were never drake so it flies under the radar. Drake, however, wrote for each of the examples provided and many more for that matter.
Anyways, I digress. Because this conversation doesn’t matter and belongs in 2015
