Kendrick isn't dropping his album though. It's already confirmed via Punch/Top Dawg a back in May that the first thing that's coming is their compilation album, followed by Jay Rock's album. THEN Kendrick will drop. I could see why Drake is waiting because maybe if Kendrick was actually up next then he could step on his release but idk Drake might legit this supposed project around late August at this rate if he's actually waiting for Kendrick's drop. Only new Drake we're getting this month is probably features

He's independent but as we saw these past few months, he's still very much close with those guys. Especially Punch/TD. So yeah the compilation album is coming first like they said, and then Jay Rock and then Kendrick which might stretch his drop all the way to end of August or even Sept/Oct. This month is starting to look like a wash.

J. Rock isn't going to surprise drop his album. I assume he's going to want some sort of roll out. The first song being dropped is probably going to be a month from the actual release of the album.

So even if J Rock dropped a song today we still looking at his album coming out in August. Kenny's not going to step on that right away. So yeah October is a good guess.

I'm really surprised Kenny just didn't do another untitled unmastered just to hold everyone over if the album isn't ready. But I guess he didn't want that to get stepped on.

Doesn't it feel like Drake's curating a coordinated set of drops? like a bunch of features with a bunch of artists and that Houston MV (lead single off album?) and then dropping an album? 3.5 months is how much time he spent promoting from beginning to drop for Scorpion. Its possible he can do it again that manner b/c he has a lot to prove with this new project. All eyes are on him.
