I think I’d say his calling card is more about hooks/hits/bangers than straight lyrics or substance
It’s clear he makes music to sound good as music when you’re with people and stuff, it’s not aiming for some avant garde stuff or some super lyrical stuff, on this album especially because he barely rapped
He’s as popular as he is because his lyrics have connected with people on an emotional level for 15 straight years. Drake himself would tell you that
YOU F***ING COCKSUCKERS TRIED OUR BEST IS ONE OF THE MOST VULNERABLE GREATEST RAP PERFORMANCES OF ALL TIME GODDAMNIT
AND THATS ON NASIR JONES
Adonis graham got the worst verse of the year 😭😭 drake get that mf out the studio
What's crazy is the first listen was legendary. Every song sounded amazing. The second listen I peeped the bars and was blown away. Now I'm trying to make sense of the sequencing, I think it could have been sequenced better.

LMAO
All the basements dwellers just got home and wanted to s*** on it
Real ones off at 5. Can’t wait to suck on some fat d

Indulge me? F*** you
For me it was a 6.2/10 with the full tracklist… 7.8/10 after trimming it down to my 13 favorite songs
As far as Drake’s early retirement albums (CLB, HNVM, Her Loss, FAT D), it’s prob better than CLB but loses to the rest I fear
losing out to Her Loss and especially Honestly Nevermind aint a shame, two great albums
This s*** clears Yeezus easily, that’s a litmus test album for if you eat up “alternative” hip hop
We acting like “I just talked to Jesus he said what up Yeezus” “Swaghili” “crossaints” is more mature lyrically than this album? Cause it’s not lol

Summer 2024: no good music has dropped. The music scene has become dominated by country music and Taylor swift rereleased albums after drizzys departure. Red heads are going number 1 again rapping about people north of Richmond. Sitting in the heat, Virginia Beach reverberating in their speaker, sweat pouring down their head as heavy as the condensation from their mixed drink, they stop and wonder... "how could I ever have hated this album?" they lament shaking their fists as the sweat drips mixing with the tears falling down their face as they finally realized they'd never get such a classic drake album again..
Why are we a***yzing his life like we know him
for all we know all this s*** just an act lmao…
Nigga just dropped 23 songs detailing personal facts on his life and we are in a thread specifically dedicated to that.
Are we just not going to a***yze anything?
I just feel like drake diluted his discography these past few years, more supply than there is demand, more filler than there is outstanding music
