I ain’t gon lie tho, it’s kinda interesting how much flak Drake gets for dropping 20 song albums compared to some other big releases like SOS and Donda which got mad praise despite the longer tracklists. Not saying the criticisms towards drake aren’t valid, just wondering why people don’t keep that same energy for others.

Donda has way stronger highs and even that album got a ton of criticism and literally has a 63 on Metacritic

Anybody with ears can tell SOS is a way better album than this lol

    1. Donda got hate

    2. SZA's a better musician and writer than Drake. But I don't listen to every song off SOS

    3. I hate bloated ass albums altogether and it angers me when anyone does it but also, that's the name of the streaming game. Like niggas don't even do double albums no more.

Because both of those albums are sonically great first and foremost. Drake used to be the master at creating a sonically great atmosphere and even did that on Honestly Nevermind imo. That’s an album I wouldn’t have minded more songs on. But yeah There’s a difference between a SZA/Ye long album than a Drake album.

Which ones? There are a couple tracks that are just aight but the highs are so high that it doesn’t really matter to me

I used to think Donda was bottom tier Kanye and now it’s probably up there with my favs

Junya, No Child Left Behind, Remote Control, Tell the Vision, Donda (like the version with the Ye and Push verses better), Ok Ok, and I think a lot of the Pt. 2's are unnecessary

There’s hardly even carved out verses or any type of switch up unless it’s an entire pointless beat change. I feel that really blocks some of these songs from being anything.
Drake just hopping on the mic and finding 3-4 minutes worth of catchy, sweet melodies and clever phrases

    And that’s it.

He can’t, it’s the lifestyle he chooses lol. He ain’t been in that look what you’ve done space for so long. Idk why he never attempted perspective rap and push his homies downfall stories

Imagine if he gives us an album reflecting on his own subject matter and how s***ty it is to rap about being a control freak over women never happening

if he committed to a full R&B album, took his time and got more real/actually vulnerable then he could have a classic on his hands
