On one hand, there is a lot of creative energy on this and Drake seems to be being vulnerable, also dig a lot of the feats (Sza, Yeat, Cole & Party all went crazy) I also understand that Drake is taking on the responsibility of trying to create a new sound a bring something fresh to the game, as goats should do

On the other hand I just want to hear some normal music breh. Like… SYO and 8am were both modern takes on classic Drake and I really wanted the whole album to sound like that and it didn’t so I’m hella thrown off rn lol. Also some of these features are a two pack of ass (sexy redd & Yachty). 21 was just 21 def a C tier Drake & 21 collab imo.

This album is like a weirder more experimental and less commercially appealing CLB and I don’t know how I feel about that atm

Definitely a grower at best which is disappointing because I was hoping this would be an instant classic for me (Her Loss was pretty instantaneous for me, CLB was a grower and never really quite got there with me tbh, I liked HNM off first listen too but it took a few listens to LOVE it like I do now)

I know he’s one of the most successful artists ever so he knows better than I do but would it hurt to just give the people what they want for a change? Instead of subverting expectations, bait switching, and being eccentric… idk.

At the end of the day I love this nigga man so it is what it is. One of the coolest most talented mfs to ever do this. I want nothing more than to see the boy win. That said first listen this wasn’t what I was looking for. Ima give it a few more spins, pick my favs and move on with life
