Is it really that deep? From an album branding perspective it’s great - everyone knows the project’s name and is anticipating its arrival.

He had to lie to and piss off his Day 1 fans who were tuned in since the beginning of the rollout to get that, though, and there were other ways to build hype and raise awareness without just blatantly lying about timeframes. It’s a s***tily executed rollout

I don’t think he lied about it, things just changed. He’s Drake, he could drop whenever and people will be hyped. He probably just got excited when releasing the book and thought the album would be ready sooner. And he probs got caught up in the adrenaline of performing when he said it’d be done in two weeks or whatever. He likely underestimated how taxing touring would be and 40 being sick probably delayed it further. Plus there’s heaps of stuff we would have no idea about. The album will come out soon enough - I would rather know that he’s working on something and we’ll have new music soon rather than just hoping for a new album with no confirmation
