Youâre holding the same bar to new listeners that old heads held to you when you said you liked drake and they told you nah that man is gay you gotta listen to KRS one and common
How you donât see that youâre doing that same s*** to new listeners is wild
No one has to do homework on some old motherfuckers to enjoy s*** when they hear it. Itâs just not a requirement
Youâve definitely enjoyed things that you had no idea where the influence came from.
My introduction to rap was Tribe. I knew who all the 90âs rappers were before I ever knew who Drake was. Itâs not a requirement, but if you find yourself enjoying rap you should definitely take the time to listen. Rap is the only genre where this happens for whatever reason.
Letâs put this to bed once and for all.
⢠Viet and the honestly nevermind/her loss leaker both said an album was coming before the tour.
⢠Drake announced the album last Friday through ads for his book through various reputable newspapers across the United States. Ads like this donât come cheap.
⢠Drakeâs performance at memphis, which was supposed be on Thursday June 29, was delayed last minute last friday.
In short: the album drops June 30
you stupid motherfucker
you stupid motherfucker
Itâs so over

I get what youâre saying but just wanted to add my two cents
When drake was starting in the game, those guys you mentioned were already well into their 40s and their best music days were behind them
Today, Drake is still only 36 and still topping charts and putting out some of his greatest music so it feels different when comparing him to up and comers compared to comparisons of different generations in the past
I also feel like the year is basically done. Taylor Swift/Morgan Wallen/Ice Spice/SZA owned the year and the charts/the numbers/the narrative will reflect that.
He might as well just take the time to give the album the push/promo it deserves so it ends up being as successful as it possibly can be since he's already delayed it for this long.
No use rushing yet another album that he doesn't promote/acknowledge after it drops. He's wasting the potential of all his albums lately imo but maybe I'm the only one who sees that.
100% agree. I really wish he promoted Honestly Nevermind more. I was surprised at the lack of promo post Her Loss as well. He seems like he just drops and moves on extremely fast and I donât like that

Itâs out!
It's not FATD related but I thought yall might wanna check this Meltdown poster I made
Nobody s***s on The Beatles. Nobody s***s on Prince. Nobody s***s on Elton John. These are all legacy acts that the other genres lift up & hold in high regard. Rap is the only genre where we knock down the greats & tell everyone to move on.

Mr Morale & The Big Steppers out now!
Will stream after Iâm done with Daytona.

thats cute
I want new Drake music as much as the next person but it sucks seeing him waste the potential of dozens of singles because of laziness/unpreparedness. This isn't the 2010s. He's gonna need to make more of an effort in this decade to score hits the way he did back then, especially the further in we go into the decade.
he literally doesn't care about any of that anymore
the last time drake had a real "hit song" was laugh now cry later 3 years ago. clb her loss hnvm have 0 hits (unless you coun't rich flex i guess)

The genre has moved on from prince elton John and the Beatles for the most part
Acts give their flowers to these legacy artists (which I think is good I think we both agree on that)
But the average Taylor swift fan doesnât also Stan purple rain and rubber soul a lot of them have never heard those albums
Because they are not prerequisites to enjoy the music
Hip hop is the only genre where older fans will hawk over you and shame you for not listening to a b side tribe called quest track

i don't think anyone was s***ting on hov. he was just saying current generation doesn't bump his music like that
probably more people listen to the weekend these days than mj but this doesn't mean weekend is the bigger artist

Exactly

Such a ridiculously hard trailer to be wasted like that
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MYd4tcB4GwIt still says January 2021
Just an incredible trailer, filled with nostalgia and a ethereal sound and vibes. This instrumental was stuck in my head for a whole year after I had to download the audio lol. I really hope he uses it for a full song one day. S*** man it's hitting again now that I'm watching it
