I'm gonna be honest I really think it's the sequencing of the album. Alot of people really don't f*** with Girls Want Girls and In The Bible at all.
They're alright songs and i'm not hating on them or anything but they could've been loosies TBH
They really kill the momentum of the album right at the beginning
TSU, Love All and Intoxicated being leaked like a year before in HQ all over youtube, instagram, tiktok also didnt help the album imo. I was shocked when those songs were on the album. CLB is weird bcuz I swear some of the songs on there were recorded like in 2019 or 2020 and some of the songs like 7pm in Bridle path were recorded like a week or days before the release

Yeah I mean not an uncommon practice for other artists but Drake generally didn’t really hold onto songs like that
Didn’t Noel say Texts Go Green was kept for HNVM? For a guy who once said he didn’t keep many songs in the vault that has definitely changed over the years
Will always be curious as to what OG CLB looked like when it was gonna drop in August/September 2020 with LNCL as the lead single
40's beats on take care are the greatest beats drake has ever been over
This is an objective fact.
The same way Jimmy Crooks led into Her Loss i could see I Guess It's F*** Me play into this claddic Drake sound
Will always be curious as to what OG CLB looked like when it was gonna drop in August/September 2020 with LNCL as the lead single
One of the great mysteries

Fr. I remember an interview Drake did in like 2019/2020 where he was asked about what his next album would be like and he said it was going to be "concise". I bet that was the initial CLB that he was talking about
Found it: exclaim.ca/music/article/drake_says_next_album_will_be_more_concise_than_scorpion

I think the title being Certified Lover Boy also brings certain expectations. If the tracklist was like this, it would be a Top 5 Drake album for me.
1. Champagne Poetry
2. Papi's Home
3. Girls Want Girls
4. In The Bible
5. Love All - OG version without Jay-Z
6. Fair Trade - without Travis and no beat switch
7. TSU
8. N 2 Deep
9. Pipe Down
10. Yebba's Heartbreak
11. Race My Mind
12. Get Along Better
13. IMY2
14. F***ing Fans
15. The Remorse
Maybe put Neatly on there as well.
Give Way 2 Sexy to Future, Fountains to Tems, YOLT to Wayne or Ross and release No Friends In The Industry, Knife Talk and 7am on Bridle Path as Scary Hours 3
In the Bible is the worst song in his discography imo
agree it’s at least bottom 3

i listen to CLB similar to this but i get rid of girls want girls, in the bible, yebba's heartbreak (great song but only want drake tracks here) and f***ing fans
i put way 2 sexy as track 3 before love all and you only live twice after get along better
it flows really well
