It’s only in hip hop and it drives me crazy. Travis didn’t give a release date for like 5 years about the album he was promoting. I would just for once love a single, a release date, and album cover and then the album drop. Just one nice clean rollout.

Yeah that’s my point. They should give a date when they announce the album because that’s what literally every artist in every other genre does. Don’t announce an album if you don’t know when it’s coming.

i think out of modern rappers tyler probably has the best rollouts with singles, videos, and song trailers within two weeks of announcing the album

Yep the rollout and promo for CMIYGL was immaculate and memorable. Don’t get me wrong I like drakes music better, but all we have to remember this album so far are some rubber dog masks and a website that hasn’t been updated in going on 2 months.

Views and CLB were by far his longest rollouts which I think helped them commercially but wasn't a fan of. I like these types of rollouts. We got a leaks and a announcement over a month ago. This 1-2 month style drops are the best imo not too long and not too short

What else has he done that’s album related seriously? Dog mask, and saying he has an album coming out at the concert. That’s literally it. None of the interviews mention the album a single time, the freestyle isn’t a part of the album, and none of the features have anything to do with the album.

Didn’t feel like that tho. Plus he’s been saying “couple weeks” and “2 weeks” and “summer bops”
And said album with the book.
It’s way way dif than views era
The way he’s promoted it so far just feels like it’s dragging on for the fans cuz why say couple weeks and all this s*** and just never say nothing else ataib

That is all part of the promotion, though. When movie stars go on talk shows to promote their next movie, they aren’t exclusively talking about their movie. He’s been in the news nonstop. That’s how you stay relevant & people entertained.

That’s not album promotion whatsoever though. It’s just self promotion. If he’s going on these interviews saying he has an album out and talking about it that’s one thing, but he hasn’t mentioned it outside of a quick sentence at the end of some concerts. Staying relevant as a famous person isn’t album promo.
