thought experiment for the dawgs:
if drake decides to not release his album to streaming services and fans have to buy a physical or digital copy (cd/vinyl/itunes,etc)
how many pure sales is he selling in 2023? will everyone just say f*** it and pay the $9.99 to buy it or will most people wait 1-2 weeks until their illegally ripped and uploaded to the internet for download
to put it into perspective, last time he had an album in the physical era was VIEWS and that did ~800-850k in physical copies
Feel like the cancel wouldn't be album related
He loves Memphis, can't see finishing an album being the reason he cancels the show and doesn't even have a replacement day ready
He’s prolly going on a vacation

The issue with physical sales is you need an audience who has their own money & means to purchase them. I feel like most of his audience is of age & would buy if they had to.
Final stretch of album going to be those days off
There will be a hit recorded within those eight days off, there’s always something recorded at the last minute that ends up shining.

We saw a little bit of this when Spotify listeners couldn’t get their hands on VIEWS… moved 800k pure
but that was still early in the days of streaming being the new king
Milwaukee show was moved back. Both Milwaukee & Memphis claim this is production related. Wonder why no other venue had issues.

This sometimes happens especially with a set as elaborate as drakes it relies on a lot of preexisting infrastructure in these venues and sometimes they don’t have it or it’s not working or whatever the case is

Milwaukee moved from the 3rd to the 4th. That will be his last show til august 12th in California. Memphis has no rescheduling as of yet

i think there’s a reasonable chance drake drops a vinyl with for all the dogs, given he’s been putting out more physical versions lately, so it’ll be a good way to gauge his pure sales potential in 2023
No album boys
He don’t care 😂😂😂😂😂
