The hype and scarcity drives enough future value for both parties. Granted Drake could likely afford to pay for the Apollo and never worry about making a profit. The desire and exclusivity is high enough that regular people (us) will continue to seek out experiences like this so when he decides to go touring again we'll pay without a second thought at the chance we could one day fit into this prestigious club.

I don’t think the goal of this show is a profit. If it was a money think for drake it wouldn’t be at an intimate venue when he could do a stadium / arena

He could easily sell one out he just likes the arena experience for fans.
For example he will do a major show somewhere like London for 8 dates at o2 arena and sell out. That’s 160k seats which is like 2 big stadiums
